Heather Ann McCord and Trenton Robert Dombroski were united in marriage on May 27, 2006 at St. John Lutheran Church in Ellinwood. The Rev. Merlyn Lohrke officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Bill and Tanya McCord of Ellinwood. Grandparents of the bride are Abe and Imogene Goodwin of Great Bend and Bill Byrum of Payson, Ariz., and Wanda Gregory of Phoenix, Ariz. The groom is the son of Bob and Connie Dombroski of Hill City and Patty Eggers of Ellinwood. Grandparents of the groom are Robert and Janet Dombroski of Plainville, Harry and Helen Clark of Hill City and the late Bob and Wanda Wambold. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white, one-piece, vintage taffeta and Vidal lace, strapless, A-line gown with corset back. The gown featured an elegant lace overlay on the bodice that created an asymmetrical lowered waist. A taffeta empire-band sprinkled with crystals and silver lacing decorated the bodice. The taffeta skirt was accented with gentle folds of fabric that swept up at the side to reveal an enchanting lace hem. The chapel train was adorned with rich lace. The bride wore a handmade tiara, necklace and earrings from Maggie Sottero’s Victoria Lee collection made from the finest Swarovski crystals and pearls. Each piece was unique. She carried a bouquet of silk flowers of burnt orange, chocolate, ivory and gold accented with crystal jewels for extra sparkle. The matron of honor was Amy Schmitt of Burdett. The bridesmaids were Julie Ney of Great Bend, Caroline Boese of LaCrosse, and Misty Ravenstein of Hutchinson. Jessica Muller of Ellinwood was the junior bridesmaid. Schmitt and Boese wore Jordan gowns. The dresses were a burnt-orange, with a one-piece fall-line skirt and beaded front godet and strapless beaded bodices. Muller wore a matching dress in a cinnamon color. Ravenstein and Ney wore V-line, backless, halter-top silhouette gowns, with empire waist that were accented with beaded jewels and a small train. They carried a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet. Flower girls were Ragan Nickless and Taylor Nickless, both of Great Bend. Ragan wore a chocolate-brown dress and Taylor wore a burnt orange dress. The dresses were from the Jordan collection. They were beautifully bodiced with shirred cap sleeves and a full, shirred skirt. The dresses were accented with rhinestone trim. The best man was Darrel Maley of Ellis. Groomsmen were Nolan Fabricius of Manhattan, Larry Herbst of Bogue, and Travis Carswell, brother of the groom of Phillipsburg. Ring bearer was Tristin Carswell, nephew of the groom of Sterling. Ushers were Chris McCord, brother of the bride of Ellinwood, Mike Birzer of Ellinwood, and Chris and Brandon Maser, cousins of the bride, from Great Bend. Soloists were Shelly Ramsey of Great Bend and Erica Keffer and Josh Greer both of Ellinwood. The bride graduated from Ellinwood High School and Barton County Community College with degrees in graphic design and liberal arts. She is employed at Eisenhower Elementary School as a LD para-professional working with children in the second through fourth grades. The groom graduated from Hill City High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. He is employed by Rural Telephone as warehouse assistant at Hays. The couple resides in Great Bend.
