Carrie Lynn Evers and Joshua Alan Mathews were united in marriage on June 17, 2006 at St. Andrews Gold Club in Overland Park. The Rev. Mark Stones of Eureka, uncle of the bride, officiated the ceremony. Parents of the couple are Margaret Evers of Great Bend and the late Lynn Evers and Rich and Lisa Mathews of Lansing. Grandparents are Bob and Betty Wondra of Great Bend, Patricia Evers of Ellinwood and the late Earl O. Evers, Dave and Betty Moser of Abingdon, Ill., and Les and Irma Mathews of Kingwood, Tx. Given in marriage by her brother, Cory D. Evers of Lawrence, the bride wore an A-line halter gown of white satin trimmed in silver and clear beading and embroidery and a fingertip veil gathered to beaded headpiece fashioned from the bride’s mother’s wedding veil. The bride also wore a necklace designed from her mother’s wedding ring. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses, white daisies and blue hydrangea embellished with greenery and brown ribbon. The bride also carried a handkerchief belonging to her late father, embroidered by both of her grandmothers and a locket containing her late father’s picture. Matrons of honor were Cynthia Esfeld, of Olive Branch, Miss., and Christine Gebhardt, of Salina, both sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Erin Phillips of Chicago, Ill., Briane Mathews of Shawnee and Diana Paris of Dighton, all friends of the bride. They wore two piece chiffon dresses in cornflower blue and chocolate brown and carried bouquets of white daisies with yellow ribbon streamers. Bestman was John Dalton of St. Peters, Mo, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Trevor Waggoner of Jefferson City, Aaron Paris of Dighton, Chris Few of Richmond, Va., and Pat McKenney of Chicago, all friends of the groom. Flower girls were Madison and Rylie Gebhardt of Salina, nieces of the bride. They wore matching pale yellow chiffon dresses with sheer top skirts trimmed in ivory. Ringbearers were Dalton and Logan Esfeld of Olive Branch, Miss., nephews of the bride. Ushers were Shawn Casey of Lansing and Ken Foley of Boulder, Colo., both friends of the groom. Violinist was Alex Shum of Kansas City, Mo. The bride is a 2000 graduate of Hoisington High School and a 2005 graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelors degree in business/finance. She is employed as a loan processor for American Equity Mortgage in St. Louis, Mo. The groom is a 2000 graduate of Lansing High School in Lansing and a 2004 graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelors degree in computer engineering. He is employed as a software engineer for Boeing of St. Louis. The couple reside in Chesterfield, Mo.
