Bussman 40th
Rick and Derinda Bussman celebrated their 40th anniversary with a family dinner on May 24, 2008.
Rick Bussman and Derinda Faye Garret were married on May 24, 1968, at the First United Methodist Church in Turley, Okla.
They met at Northeastern Oklahoma College in Miami and completed their college studies at Panhandle A and M.
They moved to Great Bend in 1971.
Rick is sales manager for Dove Buick and Cadillac agency and Derinda is a retired extension agent for family and consumer science for Barton County.
The Bussmans have two sons, Derrick of Hays and Ryan of Derby and three granddaughters, twins Melynda and Lauren and Shelby Faye of Derby.
Sellens 70th
Kenneth and Berdena Sellens will celebrate their 70th anniversary with a reception from 1 to 3 p.m. on May 25, 2008 at Wood Haven Care Center in Ellinwood.
Hosts for the celebration will be their children, Judy and Roger Harmon of Austin, Texas, Jim and Sharon Sellens of Wasilla, Alaska, Jan and Gordan Westrum of Monument, Colo., Jolene and Mike Boys of Great Bend and Jayne and Steve Klir of Denton, Texas.
They have seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Kenneth Sellens and Berdena Bangerter were married on May 28, 1938, in Hutchinson.
Residents of Hoisington most of their married lives, they moved to Great Bend after the 2001 tornado.
Kenneth was the service manager for Murdy Motors in Hoisington and Berdena was the secretary for the Hoisington Methodist Church.
Both are retired.

Deckert 50th
Delbert and Roberta Deckert of Salina will celebrate their 50th anniversary with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. on June 1, 2008 at the First Christian Church, 2727 E. Crawford, in Salina.
Hosts for the event will be their children, David and Liz Deckert of Leawood, James and Laurie Deckert of Salina, Nancy and Brian Bergdall of Olathe, and Laura and Larry Whipple of Shawnee.
The couple has nine grandchildren.
They have a deceased son, Steven Eric Deckert.
Delbert Deckert and Roberta Potter were married on June 1, 1958, at the First Christian Church in Great Bend.
They co-own Becker Monument Company in Salina.
