McKown 55th
Mr. and Mrs. George M. and Martha J. McKown celebrated their 55th anniversary on Jan. 18. George M. McKown and Martha Lu Johnson were married on Jan. 18, 1953, in Cherokee, Okla.
Residents of Great Bend most of their married life, they owned DaMac Drilling, Inc. and affiliated companies, headquartered in Great Bend. The couple have four sons, David McKown of Great Bend and Maui, Hawaii, Bill McKown of Great Bend, Charles McKown of Arkansas City and James McKown of Kansas City; and seven grandchildren. Mr. McKown is currently under hospice care at Cherry Village.

Burhenn 55th
Irvin and Shirley Burhenn, of El Dorado, will celebrate their 55th anniversary on Jan. 30, 2007. Cards may be sent to their home in El Dorado.
Irvin Burhenn and Shirley Sisson were married on Jan. 30, 1952, in Oklahoma.
The couple have three children, Steve and Adel Burhenn of Great Bend, Kala and Graham Dean of Amelia, Ohio, and Stewart Burhenn of El Dorado; and five grandchildren, Jason Burhenn, Lacey and John Haughawout all of Wichita, Seth Burhenn and Zach Burhenn of El Dorado.
Broaderway 35th
Johnnie and Cheryl Broaderway of Great Bend will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary with a cake reception for friends and family from 2 to 4 p.m. on Jan. 27, 2007 at Grace Community Church in Great Bend.
Cheryl Reifschneider and Johnnie Broaderway were married on Jan. 29, 1972, at Normandy Chapel in Fort Riley, Junction City.
Cheryl is a homemaker.
John is maintenance manager at St. Joe Hospital in Larned.
The couple’s children are Tim Broaderway and wife Angela, Kim Hammeke and husband Tim, and grandsons, Logan and Landen Hammeke, all of Great Bend.
They have two grandchildren.
