Starnes 55th
Gene and Edna Starnes of Chase, formerly of Ellinwood, will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary with a come-and-go reception from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 24, 2007 at the Chase Senior Center, 312 E. Grove Ave. in Chase.
Gene Starnes married Edna LeManske on Feb. 18, 1952, in Kansas City.
Hosting the reception are the couple’s children: Kathy and Terry Cowley and Gregg Starnes, all of Natoma, and Kelly and Lori, both of Ellinwood.
The couple request no gifts.
Grimes 50th
Merlin and Nelva Grimes are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception and card shower.
Merlin Grimes and Nelva Wallace were married Jan. 19, 1956, at EUB Church in Alton.
The couple are employed in the cattle and farming industry.
A reception in the couple’s honor will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 19, 2007 at the Highland Hotel Heritage Room.
Hosts for the reception will be the couple’s children and their spouses: Kim and Bernie Guesnier of Great Bend; Brenda and Chuck White of Wichita; and Jana and Stan Kaiser of Matthews, N.C. The couple’s grandchildren include Abby and Brandon Foster of Chicago, Ill.; Jacob Williamson of Shawnee, Okla.; Emily White of Lawrence; Lindsey White of Lawrence; Courtney White of Wichita; and Kyle, Brett and Connor Kaiser of Matthews.

Wycoff 60th
The family of Arlys and Margaret Wycoff is requesting a card shower to honor them on their 60th wedding anniversary.
Aryls Wycoff and Margaret Morgan were married in Fort Worth, Texas, on Feb. 7, 1946.
They have lived in Great Bend for over 55 years.
Mr. Wycofff worked for The Great Bend Co-op and retired from Taylor Equipment.
Mrs. Wycoff was a dental assistant for Dr. A.W.G Schubert and later worked at the Barton County Courthouse in the register of deeds office and court records.
Their children are Linda and Doug Terry of Olathe and Susan and Randy Willis of Hoisington.
The couple has four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
