Boley 50th
Joe and Darlene Boley of Great Bend will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a come-and-go reception from 2 to 4 p.m. on Jan. 7, 2006 at the Great Bend American Legion Post 180, 1011 Kansas.
The couple was married Dec. 26, 1955, in Wichita.
He is a retired USD 428 band director and she is a private piano teacher.
They are both involved in local music activities and service organizations.
Hosts for the occasion are the couple’s family and friends: Maggie and C.J. McKain, Mary and Bryan McMahan, JoAnn and Dugan Ishmael, eight grandchildren, one great-grandson and Justin Engleman.
The couple request no gifts. They plan an Amtrak trip to the Northwest in the spring.
Martin 25th
Eddie and Marlene Martin of Great Bend will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with a come-and-go reception for family and friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2006 at the Youth Chapel of First Assembly of God Church.
The couple request no gifts.
Eddie Martin and the former Marlene Anshutz were married Dec. 18, 1980, at the First Assembly of God.
They have one daughter, Erin Martin.
Schartz 50th
LeRoy G. and Theresa Schartz are celebrating their 50th anniversary with an open-house reception from 2 to 4 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2006 at the Great Bend Senior Center, 205 Kansas Ave., Great Bend.
LeRoy G. Schartz and Theresa Herrman were married on Dec. 31, 1955, at Saint Rose Catholic Church in Great Bend with Rev. Ultan Murphy officiating the ceremony.
Mr. Schartz is a retired farmer.
Mrs. Schartz is a homemaker.
The couple have lived in the Great Bend area all their life.
Hosting the reception are the couple’s children and their families: Betty and Dale Riggs, Dale and Carol Schartz, Kyle and Bonny Schartz, Lana and Greg Brown, all of Great Bend and Kevin and Rhea Schartz of Ellinwood.
They also have another son, LeRoy Schartz, Jr.
The couple have 19 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
