Biggs 50th
Danny and Darlene Biggs of Great Bend celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 18, 2006 with a reception and dinner at the Highland Hotel Convention Center.
Danny Biggs met Darlene Craig in Aberdeen, S. D., while Danny was working on a drilling rig and Darlene was teaching school.
They were married March 23, 1956, in Kingman.
They have lived in Great Bend since 1965.
Their three children and spouses hosted the anniversary celebration: Craig Biggs and his wife Jolene of Great Bend; Kim Biggs and his wife Kimberly of Edmond, Okla.; and Kelly Bowman and her husband Rob of Great Bend.
They are also blessed with eight grandchildren: Amanda Biggs of Kansas City, Lindsay Biggs of Manhattan, Brent Biggs of Great Bend, Justin Biggs of Ft Worth, Texas, Jarad Biggs of Emporia and Brittany, Kristan and Jace Bowman of Great Bend.
Pitts 65th
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Pitts celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on March 16, 2006.
Herbert Pitts and Myrtle Christians were united in marriage March 16, 1941, at Beaver Friends Church in Beaver.
They will celebrate their anniversary in the near future with a family dinner.
Simpson 72nd
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin C. Simpson are celebrating their 72nd wedding anniversary.
They were married March 13, 1934, in Osceola, Mo.
They have been residents of Great Bend since 1941.
They raised six children and now have 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.
