Bender 60th
Ernest and Helen Bender will celebrate their 60th anniversary with a card shower.
Ernest Bender and Helen Templing were married Sept. 1, 1946, at Bender Hill Trinity Lutheran Church in Russell.
Mr. Bender farmed in Russell County until 1961, moving to Great Bend and working at USD 428.
Mrs. Bender worked at Gibsons Discount Center.
The couple have one son, Gary Bender and wife Kathy of Charlotte, N.C.; and one daughter, Judy McGreevy and husband Dennis of Great Bend; three grandchildren, Heidi Martin and husband Cory, Jeremy Bender and wife Mischa, all of Wichita, and Coy McGreevy of Great Bend; two step-grandchildren, Jarrod Severeide of Charlotte, N.C. and Tobie Andrews of Wichita; and four great-grandchildren, Brady Martin, Bailey Martin, Ryan Bender and Parker Sue Bender, all of Wichita.

Reif 50th
Don and Lorene Reif will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception from 3 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 26, 2006 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7428, 256 S. Main in Hoisington.
Friends and family are welcome to attend.
Don Reif and Lorene Lang were married on Aug. 27, 1956, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beaver.
The couple has lived in the Hoisington area their entire married life.
He is a farmer and she is a homemaker.
The couple has three children, Don Reif, Jr., and Diane Reif both of Hoisington and Sheila Metzger and husband Tracy of Hutchinson; and one grandchild Hunter Metzger of Hutchinson.

Long 50th
Allen and Marjorie Long will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 26, 2006 at the IOOF Lodge, 700 E. 1st Ave. in St. John.
Allen Long and Marjorie Helsel were married on Aug. 26, 1956, at the Church of Christ in Pratt.
Mr. Long is a retired farmer/stockman and Mrs. Long is a homemaker.
The reception will be hosted by their children, Terry and Debbie Long of Seward, Vicki and Ronny Prescott, Christopher all of St. John, Douglas and Jana Long of Washington, Ill., and their nephew Jerry and Carol Long of St. John.
The couple has 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
