Birney - 25th
Leon Ostrander would like to announce the 25th wedding anniversary of his parents, Bob and Barbara (Fox) Birney, who were married on March 15, 1980.

Knight - 50th
Harlyn and Norma (Nordman) Knight of Wichita will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2005.
They were married at the First Christian Church in Larned, the community where they grew up and were high school sweethearts.
They lived briefly in Newton, where Harlyn was in training as a chamber of commerce executive, and then moved to Neodesha, where he accepted the position as the chamber of commerce manager.
Following more education in Wichita, they returned to Neodesha and established a business in cosmetology and the fashion industry for the next 23 years.
In 1979, they moved to Wichita. Harlyn became a buyer at Boeing, retiring in late 1992.
He joined the sales staff at Kay Jewelers for several years.
Presently, he is on the staff at Miles Music, selling pianos and helping customers with music theory.
He was a church organist for over 30 years.
Norma worked 24 years for Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics at Dillard’s Towne East Square until her retirement in August 2004.
The joy of life has been their daughter, Layna (Mrs. Joe Trimmell) of Wichita and their son Harlyn (Perry) Knight II, who died Oct. 3, 2002.
They have two precious grandsons, Preston Andrew Roberts Knight of Goddard and Michael Allen Trimmell of Wichita.
A dinner reception was scheduled for Feb. 12 at the Olive Tree Banquet Hall hosted by family.
Joining the celebration were the attendants from their wedding: maid of honor, Janice (Booe) Knight; and best man, Harold Knight, both of Joplin, Mo.; bridesmaids: Alice Rose (Nordman) Oborny of Rush Center and Sarah Jane (Clark) Broh of Arkansas City; groomsmen: Norman Knight of Dodge City, Maurice Nordman of Great Bend; flower girl: Agnes (Stos) Lange of Salina; ring bearer: Ed Sanders of Hereford, Texas.
Two attendants are deceased, bridesmaid Delores Witte and groomsman Bill Knight. Mildred (Nordman) Fyler of Larned will be at the reception table as she was for the wedding.
Hamm - 50th
Eldon and Paula Hamm of Ellinwood are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2-4 p.m. on April 2, 2005 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church Youth Center, 6th and Wilhelm, Ellinwood.
Hosts for the reception are the couple’s children: Jayme and Rege Hall of Danville, Ind., and Sheryl and Chris Elliott of Great Bend, and grandchildren, Parker Hall of Danville, Ind., and Jordan and Nicholas Elliott of Great Bend.
Eldon Hamm and Paula Riggs were married on April 10, 1955, (Easter Sunday) in El Dorado.
Mr. Hamm worked as an instrumental music instructor at the elementary and middle schools for 14 years.
He has been with Eldon Hamm Insurance agency since 1969.
Mrs. Hamm is a retired elementary music teacher in Ellinwood.
