Shoaff - 50th
Sam and Betty Shoaff will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner. Sam Shoaff of Russell and Betty Hanzlicek of Wilson were married on May 22, 1955, at a country church east of Wilson.
They have lived their entire married life in Great Bend.
He is a veteran of the Korean War and is a retired partsman.
She is retired from USD 428 food service.
They have a son Brian, his wife, Laura, and two granddaughters, Morgan and Alexa, all of Hays.

Standau - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Standau are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to North Carolina.
Norval Standau and Doris Jean “Jeanie” Brooks were married on May 7, 1955, in Laurel, Md.
The couple has lived most of their married life in Hoisington.
Mr. Standau was employed at Kansas Brick and Tile, Inc. for 40 years.
Mrs. Standau has been a homemaker.
The couple has two children, Sherry Schulze and husband, Mark, of Kansas City, Mo., and Shelley Standau of North Carolina.
Brown - 45th
Mason A. and Sharron J. Brown will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary along with Mason’s 80th birthday from 2-5 p.m. on Aug. 6, 2005 at the Central Baptist Church.
The reception will be hosted by their daughter Adel Ostrom and her husband, Curtis, of Moresville, N.C.; grandchildren, Brandi Lewis of Moresville, N.C., Blaine Ostrom and Valarie Ostrom, both of Owensville, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Mason A. Lewis, Tamera N. Lewis, Courtney Ostrom and Christian Ostrom; and sisters, Judy and Richard Rasmussen and AJ and Emily Lou Carpenter.
Mason A. Brown and Sharron Zook were married April 25, 1960, at Raton, N.M.
Mr. Brown is retired from Southwestern Bell with 36 years of service.
Mrs. Brown is retired from the USD 428 Central Kitchen.
