Wright - 60th
Lonnie and Alberta Wright of Albert celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with visits from their children: Alvin Wright and daughter-in-law, Cynthia, of Puyallup, Wash.; and John Wright and daughter-in-law, Pam, and great grandson, Addison, of Castle Rock, Colo.
Lonnie Wright and Alberta Fleske were married on Aug. 5, 1945, at the Peace Lutheran Church in Albert, residing at Stone Bridge Farm during their marriage.
He is a farmer and she is a homemaker.
The couple has six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Jennings - 70th
Melvin and Roberta Jennings of Nekoma will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with an open house for family and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 6, 2005 at the legion in Burdett.
Melvin Jennings and Roberta (Gibson) Jennings were married in Larned on Nov. 3, 1935.
He is a retired farmer and she is a homemaker.
They live on the farm north and east of Burdett where they have lived since marriage.
Hostesses for the celebration will be their children: Leon and Shirley Jennings of Burdett; Fred and Judy Jennings of Larned; Linda Maddy of Larned; and Cheryll and Kenneth Meier of La Crosse.
The couple has five granddaughters, four grandsons, seven great-granddaughters, six great-grandsons and eight step-great-grandchildren.
The couple request no gifts.
Lang - 50th
Melvin and Yvonne Lang of Perry, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 5, 2005 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 3rd and Elm in Perry.
Melvin Lang and Yvonne Reif were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beaver on Nov. 7, 1955.
Hosts for the event will be their children: Randall and Sheryl Lang, Michael and Carolyn Lang of Perry, David Lang and friend, Brenda McTaggart, and Brian and Donna Lang of Lawrence.
He worked in the grain business 38 years, retiring in 1997 as manager of the North Lawrence Farmers Co-op Elevator.
He had previously managed Kaw Valley Grain Company at Perry and Farmers Elevator at Hedville and was assistant manager at the Beaver Grain Corporation in Beaver.
He works part-time for the Jefferson County Rural Water District No. 2.
She retired in 2001 as an accountant at the Kansas University Life Span Institute.
She previously did accounting work at the Kaw Valley Grain Company at Perry and Fuller Business Services in Hoisington.
She now works part-time as the accountant for the Kansas University Beach Center on Disability/Self-Determination Projects.
