Harman - 50th
G.R. and Velma Harman of Garfield will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004. Harman and the former Velma Cassady were married Feb. 18, 1954, at Cherokee, Okla., and have lived in the Larned and Garfield area. Harman is retired from the Pawnee County Highway Department and she is retired from Larned State Hospital and is currently a bus driver for USD 495 of Larned. Their children are Victor and Nancy Harman of Garden City, Glynda Harman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Gaylon Harman of Great Bend, Velina Harman of Hutchinson, Dianna and Jerry Manzanares of Pueblo, Colo., and Denise and Bobby Hoch of Garfield. Rathbun - 50th
Wayne and Joan Rathbun of Great Bend will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 14, 2004 with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. at First Southern Baptist Church Annex Building in Great Bend. Family and friends are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts. Rathbun and the former Charlotte Joan Easdon were married Feb. 14, 1954, at First Christian Church of Great Bend. They have lived most of their married life in Great Bend. Hosts will be their children and grandchildren. Their children are Bob and Charlotte Rowe and Wayne and Connie Rathbun, both of Great Bend; Hal and Cheryl Lawson of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Christina Rathbun of La Mesa, Calif. Their grandchildren are Monte and Misti Schmidt of Enid, Okla., Robert Rowe of Lawrence, Nikki, Caley and Jaci Lawson of Los Angeles, Calif., Tiffani Rathbun of Littleton, Colo., Keith Rathbun of Great Bend and Harrison Gonka of La Mesa, Calif. Young - 50th
Virgil and Joan Young of St. John will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 15, 2004 with an open house reception from 2 to 4 p.m. at the First National Bank hospitality room in St. John. Young and the former Joan Castleberry were married Feb. 14, 1954, at Pratt. Their children and spouses are Debbie and Joe Levingston of Great Bend, Steve and Velda Young of St. John, Don and Jan Young of Hutchinson and Stephanie and Ronald Ahrens of Ellinwood. The couple has one granddaughter and eight grandsons.
