Strecker - 50th
Paul and Norma Strecker are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Norma M. (Wahl) and Paul H. Strecker were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hays on July 31, 1954. The Streckers lived on a farm at Galatia during their marriage, with Paul working as a farmer and Norma as a music teacher. Children and grandchildren shared their god-given talents in a half-hour program on July 12 at the couple’s home in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. A lunch at Meridy’s in Russell followed. Mr. and Mrs. Strecker’s reception was hosted by their children, Rev. Charlotte Strecker-Baseler and husband, Rev. John Strecker-Baseler of Oberlin, Kathryn Apley, Ph.D., and husband Mike, D.V.M., Ph.D., of Nevada, Iowa, Paulette Orr and husband Byron of Amarillo, Texas, and SFC David H. Bybee - 40th
Charles and Janet Bybee will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Aug. 9, 2004. Charles Bybee and Janet Kathleen Stroup were married at Chase Presbyterian Church. The couple has two children, Traci Hamblin and husband Matt of McPherson, and son Brian Bybee of Lawrence. Mr. and Mrs. Bybee also have three grandchildren, Kendra, Kaci and Joshua. The couple has resided in Great Bend for 35 years.
Miller - 50th
The children of Bob and Velma Donna Miller invite you to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 25, 2004. Robert James Miller and the former Velma Donna Gardner were united in marriage 50 years ago on July 29, 1954, at Miller, Mo. They have six children and their spouses, 21 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. A reception will be held at the High Street Christian Church, Neosho, Mo., from 2- 4 p.m. with a renewal of vows ceremony at 3 p.m. Family and friends are invited.
