Ludwig - 50th
Bob and Marge Ludwig will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2004, at Hoisington Activity Center. Ludwig and the former Marjorie Debes were married by the Rev. Leo Debes Aug. 2 at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Hoisington. Hosting the event will be their children, George and Jeri Ludwig of Jennings, Okla., Susan and Keith Davis of New Cambria, Loretta and Bert Riedl of Great Bend, Robert and Veronica Ludwig and Dennis and Jean Ludwig, all of Hoisington, Mary and Kent Kaiser of Bushton and Robin and Brian Nicholson of Fort Collins, Colo.; their 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to join them in the celebration.
Smith - 60th
LeRoy and Jean Smith of Hoisington celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 5, 2004. The day was spent with all of their five children and nearly all of their 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The reunion was also spent celebrating the wedding day of their grandson, Chris McCurdy. Their children and spouses are Connie and Eldon Schultz of Enid, Okla., Carol and Ron Polzin of Hoisington, Lee and Jane Smith of Concordia, Cathy and Gary McCurdy of Emporia and Roger and Dorothy Smith of Milton, W. Va. The Smith’s were married June 5, 1944 at First Methodist Church in Hoisington.
Bowman - 50th
Herb and Kathy Bowman of Larned will celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, from 2-4 p.m. at the JA Hass Building in Larned. The event will be hosted by their children: Donna and Stan Maskus of Hays; Dee and James Eberwein of Alma; Shelly and Gregg Sexton of Abilene; and Sharon and Mark Lessard of Larned. The couple has 10 grandchildren. The couple requests no gifts.
