Piland - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Piland are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception on Sept. 4, 2004, from 2-5 p.m. at the Great Bend Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave. in Great Bend. Edwin R. Piland and Geraldine Andrus were married June 26, 1954, at Grace Methodist Church in Macksville. Mr. Piland worked at Sears and Central Kansas Medical Center and Mrs. Piland worked for C.P.I. of Great Bend. The couple has three children; Cindy and Mike Stevenson of Fort Collins, Colo., Neil and Becky Piland of Topeka and Thomas and Maria Piland also of Topeka. Grandchildren are Christopher Piland and Case Piland both of Fort Collins, Mindy and Andy Davidson of Mexico, Mo., Jonathan Piland and Eric Piland, Peter Piland and Danny Piland all of Topeka. Great-grandchildren are Nathan and Clayton of Mexico, Mo.
Brown - 50th
Lavern and Ruby Brown will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family gathering. Lavern S. Brown and Ruby Schult were married Aug. 25, 1954, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ashland. Lavern Brown has been affiliated in the oil and gas industry for 49 years. Ruby Brown worked 18 years for the Barton County Community College Cosmetology Department. Their children are Tom Brown of Great Bend and Pam Bechard and husband Raymond of Lawrence. The couple have two grandchildren, Ashley and Brennan Bechard. Reddick - 50th
Bill and Gladys Reddick celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 23, 2004. Bill Reddick and Gladys Wilhlem were married Aug. 23, 1954, in St. John. Bill Reddick is retired from the oil field and currently works for the City of Seward. Gladys Reddick is a house wife. They have four children; Steve Reddick and wife Lori of Great Bend, Susan Stocking and husband Doug of Fairview, Okla., Scott Reddick and wife Dawn of North Platte, Neb., and Sharolyn Roach of Wichita.
