Williamson - 65th
Delmar Williamson and Gladys Schultz were married on Nov. 30, 1939, at Larned. He was employed by Northern Natural Gas and she was a housewife while they lived in Lorraine. The Wesley Arnold family from McIntosh, S.D., will host a reception from 2-5 p.m. on Aug. 8 at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Lorraine. Muth - 50th
Alvin and Vera Darlene Muth of Great Bend will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 8, 2004. Their children are hosting an open house from 2 - 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8 at the Great Bend Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave. Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate this event. Alvin Muth and Vera Darlene Korte were married on Aug. 8, 1954, at the Methodist Church in Kinsley. He retired from Great Bend Industries after 18 years and now works part time as a greeter at the Wal-Mart Super Store in Great Bend. She is retired from the Dominican Sister Convent where she was a baker and cook for 28 years. Their children and spouses are Dianna Muth of Longmont, Colo., Richard and Denise (Muth) Appel of Rush Center and Darren and Ruth Muth of Bushton. The Muth’s have six grandchildren, Jeremy Cale, Rebekah Cale, Corbin Cale, Ashlee Muth, Aaron Muth and Aimee Muth; four step grandchildren, Kevin Appel, Denise Shuey, Jennifer Eckhoff and Russell Clarke; one great-grandchild, Devin Nickolson; three step-great-grandchildren, Paige Eckhoff, Cordel Eckhoff and Levi Shuey. The couple request no gifts.
Thomas - 50th
Bill Thomas and Marie Rigat were married Aug. 8, 1954, in Brooklyn, N.Y. They have lived on a farm outside of Claflin ever since. He worked for the Claflin School district driving a school bus for 29 years. He is also a farmer and still going strong. She worked for a law firm in Brooklyn. She met Bill Thomas while he was stationed with the Army in New York. She has also worked at the Great Bend Tribune and Ruskin Manufacturing in Great Bend. She is currently employed with the Claflin School district and is driving special education students to school in Great Bend. The couple have three children, Susan Blackshere and husband Tom Blackshere of Salina, Steve Thomas of Pratt and Tony Thomas of Claflin. They have three grandchildren, Brett Thomas, Brock Thomas and Jason Thomas. The couple is celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a card shower.
