Waite - 25th
Mel Waite and Mary Karlin were married July 21, 1979 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend. Mel is employed by AR Systems in Ellinwood. Mary is employed by Barton County Health Department in Great Bend. The couple celebrated the day with a barbecue at their home on July 24, 2004. Joining the couple in their celebration were their children; Angela Waite of Lawrence, David Waite, Sarah Waite, Marc Waite all of Ellinwood. The couple reside in Ellinwood.
Thompson - 50th
Wayne E. and Arlene Booth Thompson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with close family on Oct. 2, 2004 in Topeka. The couple were married Oct. 10, 1954, in Alva, Okla. Wayne and Arlene are both retired teachers from Otis-Bison School District and still reside part-time in Otis. They are the parents of Mark Thompson of Topeka, Kirk Thompson of Lancaster, Kala Blochlinger of Lucas, and Jill Schauer of Trenton, Ga. They have 11 grandchildren. Zetko - 50th
Clifford and Darlene Zetko of La Crosse celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary w ith a dinner and dance on Aug. 28, 2004 at the La Crosse City Auditorium, with their children as hosts. Clifford Zetko and Darlene Britthouer were married Aug. 29, 1954, at Scottsbluff, Neb. In 1956, Clifford and Darlene moved from their farm in La Crosse to Wichita. After Clifford retired from Beech Air Craft as a heat treat inspector in 1979, they returned to La Crosse. Darlene also worked at Beech Air Craft as an order control clerk. They have two children, Lora Isley and husband Robert, and Leonard Zetko and twin grandsons, all of La Crosse. Cards maybe sent to R.R. 1 Box 39, La Crosse, KS 67548.
