On August 1, 2004, Pedro Lopez and Cristel Sanchez were married in the Ministerial Chapel at Montemorelos University in Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
The groom is the son of Josefina Meza of Guadalajara, Mexico (formerly of Great Bend) and the bride is the daughter of Jose and Flor Sanchez of Chiapas, Mexico.
Local friends and relatives who attended the wedding were Pedro’s brother and family Tony Velazco, Rosita, Anita, and Tony Jr., Juan and Daniela Uribe, Gloria, Alejandra and Sarai Hernandez, and Roger and Doris Reile-Kneller.
Pastor Loren Wade (former Kansan) director of the ministerial department of the university and Pastor Carballo, director of the Jalisco Conference of Seventh-day Adventists officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is a graduate of Montemorelos University and employed as a teacher.
The groom is also a graduate of Montemorelos University.
He is serving as a pastor of a group of Seventh-day Adventist churches in southern Jalisco.
He is a former employee of the Medicine Shoppe in Great Bend.
