Ochs - 50th
Lee and Marjorie Ochs of Rush Center will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 18, 2004 at the Township Hall at Rush Center. The event will be hosted by their children, Debra and Dean Lewis of Salina and Mark and Balinda Ochs of Great Bend. The couple was married on Dec. 19, 1954, at the Lutheran Church at Otis. Willis - 50th
Jack R. and Thelma Jean Willis of Moundridge will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2004 at William Pack Park at the west end of Wollmann Street in the Wollmann Addition on N. Christian Street. A second reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 12 in Oswego in conjunction with a DeCow/Willis family reunion at Bill and Flossie Rae’s home, 11047 Woodson Road, Oswego. Willis and the former Thelma Jean Jones were married Aug. 28, 1954, at the First Baptist Church in Oswego by the Rev. John M. Gurley. They made their home for 15 years in Great Bend, before moving to Moundridge. He drove semi-trucks for 44 years before retiring with Farmland Ind. of McPherson after 30 years. She was a homemaker. Willis was raised at rural Bartlett and she was raised at rural Oswego. Their children and families are Debra and Bob Jobe of Fredericksburg, Va., Dwayne and Karen Willis and DeReva and Charley Pennington, all of Moundridge. Minks - 50th
Leslie R. Minks and Patricia M. Sculley were married on Nov. 6, 1954, in Dighton. The couple has resided in Shields and St. John for the majority of their marriage. Mr. Minks is retired from Dillwyn Grain and Supply of St. John and Mrs. Minks is retired from the Stafford County District Court. A reception will be held in their honor from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 6, 2004 at the IOOF Lodge, 700 E. 1st St. in St. John. Hosting the reception is the couple’s children: Dianna Pentico of Tacoma, Wash., Susan Garcia of Hutchinson and Galen Minks of Wichita.
