Harders - 60th
Robert and Mildred Harders will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2-4 p.m. on Nov. 7, 2004 at the First Presbyterian Church at the corner of 24th Street and Washington, Great Bend. They were married Nov. 7, 1944. Mr. Harders is retired from house painting and Mrs. Harders is retired from USD 428 as food service secretary. Hosting the event will be their children: Jim and Mary Kay Harders of Hutchinson, Ron and Nicki Harders of Dundee, Brian and Michelle Harders of Ponca City, Okla. and Sue and Karl Ware of Great Bend. The couple also has 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Komarek - 50th
Don and Beverly (Phillips) Komarek celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with all of their children, their spouses, and all of their grandchildren during a weekend of touring and dining in Kansas City. The couple met while students at Kansas State University and married Aug. 22, 1954, at the United Church of Christ in Great Bend. After a career in the United States Air Force, with tours around the country and abroad, Don retired as Lt. Colonel and the couple moved back to Great Bend in 1975 to help manage the family business, Phillips’ Sporting Goods, with the late Earl and Dale Phillips. Celebrating with the couple were Dana and Harvard Townsend from Manhattan with children Sarah, Michael and Daniel; Stefan and Ellen Komarek from Overland Park with children Kyle and Corinne; and Tracy and Steve Aris from Ann Arbor, Mich.
Keil - 50th
LeRoy and Donita Keil celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family on Oct. 9 and 10, 2004. They have four children Jamie, Julie, Joni, and Jeremy, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. If you would like to send a card, they can be reached at 2611 Forest, Great Bend.
