Reichel - 50th
Neal and Opal Reichel will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a dance from 7 to 11 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2004 at the La Crosse City Auditorium in La Crosse. Neal Reichel and Opal Mellies were married Nov. 17, 1954, at the United Methodist Church in Bushton. Host of the celebration are their children and families: Charlotte and Phil Brening of Keller, Texas; Cherie and Larry Belford of Hoisington; Joel and Terry Reichel of Bison; and Jody Reichel of Houston, Texas. Volkmann - 70th
Harley and Mary Volkmann will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Nov. 19, 2004. The couple were married in Lyons on Nov. 19, 1934. Mr. Volkmann worked for Halliburton, had his own trucking company, Volkmann Trucking, and then was the city building inspector for Great Bend until his retirement in 1980. Mrs. Volkmann worked at the Security State Bank for 10 years. They have two children, Chris Foos and his wife, Katherine, of Overland Park and Bill Volkmann and his wife, Nancy, of Manhattan. The couple has three grandchildren, Kathryn Foos, Stacy Oshel and her husband Allan and Michael Foos. They also have five great-grandchildren, Kyle, Aaron, Anthony, Savannah and Brenna.
Malbrough - 25th
Lawrence (Larry) and Marilyn Malbrough will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with an open reception from 7-10 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2004 in the Burnside Room at the Great Bend Recreation Center, 1214 Stone, Great Bend. Larry Malbrough and Marilyn Hardy were married Nov. 24, 1979, at Myers Chapel A.M.E. Church, Great Bend. Mr. Malbrough is a retired railroad employee currently working at the Great Bend Public Library. Mrs. Malbrough is Head of the Circulation Department at the Great Bend Public Library where she has been employed for 27 years. Children are sons Jamie Malbrough of Columbia, S.C. and Justin Malbrough of Salina. The couple also have two grandchildren, Jordan and Alissa of Irmo, S.C.
