Volkmann - 70th
Harley and Mary Volkmann will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Nov. 19, 2004. The couple were married in Lyons on Nov. 19, 1934. Mr. Volkmann worked for Halliburton, had his own trucking company, Volkmann Trucking, and then was the city building inspector for Great Bend until his retirement in 1980. Mrs. Volkmann worked at the Security State Bank for 10 years. They have two children, Chris Foss and her husband, Gary, of Overland Park and Bill Volkmann and his wife, Nancy, of Manhattan. The couple has three grandchildren, Kathryn Foss, Stacy Oshel and her husband Allan and Michael Foos. They also have five great-grandchildren, Kyle, Aaron, Anthony, Savannah and Brenna.
Oliver - 50th
Dale and Donna Oliver are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today with a family dinner at the Club at StoneRidge. Dale Oliver and Donna Deines were married Nov. 14, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Salina. The couple have three children, Dan Oliver and wife, Julie of Raleigh, N.C., David Oliver and wife, Eva of Tulsa, Okla., and Sarah Morris and husband Dave of Salina; and seven grandchildren, Ted and Chloe Oliver of Raleigh, Tim and Katie Oliver of Tulsa and Amanda, Abby and MacKenzie Morris of Salina. Mr. Oliver retired in 1988 after 27 years with Security State Bank. Mrs. Oliver is a homemaker.
Reichel - 50th
Neal and Opal Reichel will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a dance from 7 to 11 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2004 at the La Crosse City Auditorium in La Crosse. Neal Reichel and Opal Mellies were married Nov. 17, 1954, at the United Medodist Church in Bushton. Host of the celebration are their children and families: Charlotte and Phil Brenning of Keller, Texas;Cheril and Larry Belford of Hoisington; Joel and Terry Reichel of Bison; and Ken and Jody Reichel of Houston, Texas.
