Atteberry - 50th
Arlis and Shirley Atteberry will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 13, 2004 at Grace Lutheran Church, 6th and Carroll, in Lamed. Atteberry and the former Shirley Oetken were married Nov. 16, 1954, at Peace Lutheran Church in Albert. Mr. Atteberry is retired from the U.S. Postal Service and is currently a Pawnee County Commissioner. Mrs. Atteberry is retired from Farm Credit of Central Kansas. The hosts for the celebration will be their children and spouses, Kim and Greg Smith of Larned and Matthew and Pam Atteberry of Parsons. The couple have four grandchildren. Gustin - 50th
Charles and LaJune Gustin of Galatia will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception. The reception is from 7 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2004 at the V.F.W. Hall in Russell. A dance will follow the reception. Gustin and the former LaJune Michaelis were married Nov, 21, 1954, at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Viets officiating. Mr. Gustin is retired from farming and as a partsman, most recently with Doonan trailers. Mrs. Gustin retired from Galatia Coop after 25 years service. Hosts of the celebration are their children and families; Brent and Clare Gustin of Hays, Kevin and Kathy Gustin of Bloomington, Ill., Renee´ and Bill Cook of Victoria and Craig and Stacey Gustin of Kanopolis. They have seven grandchildren; Ethan, Keith, Landon, Sarah, Johnathan, Darrell and Macey. The couple request no gifts; your presence will be appreciated.
Achatz - 50th
Bill and Charlene Achatz of Ellinwood will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2-4 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2005 at the Emmanuel Church of Christ, 200 Pohlman St. in Ellinwood. Bill Achatz and Charlene Kasselman were married on Jan. 15, 1955, in Ellinwood. The event will be hosted by their children: Nancy Achatz of Aurora, Colo., Nanette McLean and husband Paul of Noblesville, Ind., and David Achatz of Colenga, Calif. The couple has three grandchildren.
