Brocher - 69th
Ernest and Romeyn Brocher of Great Bend will celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary on Jan. 12, 2003. Brocher and the former Romeyn Lundquist were married Jan. 12, 1934, at Lindsborg. They have one son, Richard Brocher of Great Bend, and four daughters, Danna Reed of Winslow, Ark., Jan Reames of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mary Smith of Great Bend and the late Diana O'Brien. Meyer - 45th
Mr. and Mrs. Don Meyer of Great Bend will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2-4 p.m. on Feb. 16, 2003 in Fellowship Hall at Trinity Lutheran Church of Great Bend. Meyer and the former Erma Kimle were married Feb. 16, 1958, at Campbell, Neb. They moved to Great Bend in 1959. He was employed with Midwest Energy for 35 years. She was employed by Great Bend Credit Bureau. The celebration will be hosted by their children and families. They are Cynthia and John Lee and Mark and Elaine Meyer, all of Great Bend, Tony and Mary McGee of Joplin, Mo., and Denise and Dr. Jeff Thode of Hutchinson. They have seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The couple request no gifts.
Basgall - 50th
Marvin and Sandy Basgall of Great Bend will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary today with a dinner at LaSada. Basgall and the former Wanita (Sandy) Sander were married on Feb. 7, 1953, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Hays. He was self-employed for several years in the auto body business and most recently as an auto damage appraiser. Hosts for the dinner are their children and spouses, Mitch and Shelly Drees of Salina, Gary and Rhonda Basgall of Great Bend and Pam Basgall of Hutchinson. They have five grandchildren, Barry Stalcup, Taylor Basgall, Emma Drees, Riley Drees and Keenan Drees.
