Bilyew - 25th
Steven and Coleen Bilyew will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2-4 p.m. on April 27, 2003 at Claflin Community Center. Bilyew and the former Coleen Nettleingham were married on April 29, 1978, at Concordia Lutheran Church of Hoisington. They have two children, Cara Bilyew of Manhattan and Scott Bilyew of Weatherford, Texas. The couple request no gifts.
Strobel - 25th
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Strobel of Great Bend will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with a reaffirmation of their wedding vows at 1 p.m. on April 26, 2003 at St. Patricks Catholic Church. The Rev. Warren Steckline will officiate the ceremony. A reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. at Radium Ranger Community Center of Radium. Strobel and the former Shirley Brown were united in marriage on April 28, 1978, at Topeka. Their children are Dennis Strobel, Terry Strobel, Richard Strobel, David Strobel and Jerry Strobel, all of Topeka, Dale Helmick of Great Bend and Todd Coffman of Hays. They have 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends and relatives and invited to attend and bring a photo for their memory book. The couple requests no gifts.
Schartz - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald N. Schartz will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 10, 2003 with a card shower. Schartz and the former Shirley Ross were married June 10, 1953, at Ellis County. They have been residents of Hays for more than 50 years. Their children are Butch and Lois Schartz, Laura Schartz, Debra and John Douglas and Merilyn Schartz, all of Ellis, Dave and Regina Schartz of Hays, Steve and Jennifer Schartz and Sue and Chuck Martinez, all of Colorado, Karen and Butch Campbell of Texas, Mark and Brenda Schartz of Salina and Alan Schartz of El Dorado. They have 21 grandchildren.
