Schenk - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Schenk of Great Bend will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at 10:30 a.m. on May 25, 2003 with a Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Great Bend. An open house will be held from 2-4 p.m. on May 25 at the Knights of Columbus Club, 723 Main St. of Great Bend. Relatives and friends of the couple are invited to celebrate. Schenk and the former Mary Jo Riedel were married May 20, 1953, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Olmitz. Hosts for the celebration will be their children and grand children, Richard and Ann Schenk, Allyce, Amanda and Briana, all of Great Bend, Bro. Mark Schenk, OFM. Cap. Denver, Colo., Patrick and Denise Hunt, Theodore, Timothy and David Hunt, all of Laguna Hills, Calif., and Gregory and Kim Schenk, Matthew, Jessica and Sarah, all of Great Bend. The couple requests no gifts.
McDorman - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. L. C. (Mac) McDorman of Great Bend will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on May 16, 2003. A family dinner, hosted by their children and spouses, was held on May 3 at Wichita. McDorman and the former Darlene Venters were married May 16, 1953. The couple was married on Darlene’s parents 25th wedding anniversary. “Mac” was employed by Halliburton Services for 41 years. Their children are Cindy and David Christiansen of Hiawatha, Sheri and Jim Williams of Arlington, Texas, and Jay and Kimberly McDorman of Wichita. They have seven grandchildren.
Bowsher - 50th
Don and Twila Bowsher celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 5, 2003 at Houston, Texas, with their son, Mark Bowsher, and his family, Marge, Kevin and Lindsey. Bowsher and the former Twila Ulrich were married April 15, 1953, at Quinter. He is employed as a mini bus driver for the Commission on Aging. She is a retired nurse.
