Carpenter - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. John Carpenter celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends May 2, 2003 with an outdoor barbecue and dance. Hosts were their daughters and families, Gail Carpenter and Chris and Dale Klima, all of Great Bend. Carpenter and the former Mickey Hadl were married May 2, 1953, at Lawrence. He is an attorney in Great Bend. She is a homemaker. Their grandchildren and greatgrandchildren are Deena and Christopher Smith, Brayden and Riley, all of Great Bend, and Kelly and Darah Klima and Demi, all of Wichita.
Vink - 60th
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Vink of Great Bend celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 1, 2003. Vink and the former Marcella “Sally” Zecha were married June 1, 1943 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ellinwood. Vink is the past founder and president of Office Products, Inc., and Marcella is a homemaker. Their five children and spouses are Michael Vink, Craig and Kim Vink, Terry and Sandra Vink all of Great Bend; Kenny and Cindy Vink of Ellinwood; and Mike and Kathy Berkley of Forestburg, Texas. The couple has seven grandchildren: Leslie Vink, Scot Vink, Dawn Vink, Jessica Vink, Matthew Vink and Gavin Vink and Mikaley Berkley. Rossman - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. James Rossman will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 22, 2003 with a family dinner. Rossman and the former Betty A. Basgall were married June 22, 1953, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church of La Crosse. They have been residents of Albert for 45 years. Hosts for the dinner will be their children and spouses, Verlyn and Kathy Rossman and Rod and Dianna Cushenbery, all of Albert; and Illeen Becker and Tammy Rodie, both of Phoenix, Ariz. They have six grandchildren: Shawn Pivonka, Jeffrey Pivonka, April Deines, Jason Rossman, Evan Cushenbery and Cale Cushenbery.
