Schadel - 50th
Friends and relatives of Dale and Donna Schadel are invited to help them celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 2, 2003 at the Heritage Center, 103 N. Main St., Ellinwood. Schadel and the former Donna Brack were married Nov. 18, 1953, at Alexander Lutheran Church. Their children are Dalonna Chavez of Diamond, Mo, Stan Schadel of Memphis, Tenn., and Russell Shcadel of Ellinwood. The couple has five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. The couple would also enjoy hearing from family and friends unable to attend by sending cards to 1251 NE 20 Rd., Ellinwood, KS 67526. The couple requests no gifts.
Evans - 60th
Bob and Lydia Evans recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their family in New York City. Evans and the former Lydia Spencer were married Oct. 20, 1943, at Riverside Church in New York City, following Evans’ graduation from Midshipmen’s School. After raising their family in Great Bend, the couple moved to Lawrence where Evans continued to work professionally with the firm of Evans, Bierly and Hutchinson. Now retired, Evans and his wife enjoy traveling, visiting with family and friends and participating in programs and activities of their church.
Nuss and Karst - 50th
Eugene and Velda Nuss of Russell, together with La Vern and Joyce Karst of Hoisington, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversaries with a social hour beginning at 7 p.m. followed by a dance at 8 p.m. Nov. 1, 2003 at Russell VFW Hall. Karst and the former Joyce Eurich were married Dec. 27, 1953, at United Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Russell County. Nuss and the former Velda Keil were married Oct. 4, 1953, at United Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Russell County. Hosts from the Nuss family include; a son, Ron Nuss; their daughter and husband, Brenda and Gary Rodger; and grandchildren, Renee´ Braun and husband, Dan, Sean Rodger and Sonja and Tyler Nuss. Hosts from the Karst family include: a son, Terry Karst and wife Denise of Wichita; two daughters, LaVonne Walters of Wichita and husband, Jim, and Mo Burke and husband Russ of Houston, Texas; and their grandchildren, Kara, Courtney and Brian Karst and Kilee Burke. The couples request no gifts.
