Cooley - 25th
Dean and Judy Cooley of Wichita will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary Dec. 4, 2003. Cooley and the former Judy Keil were married Dec. 4, 1978. They have lived the majority of their marriage in Great Bend, Larned and Wichita. Cooley is employed by Joe Self Chevy Body Shop and she is a homemaker. The couple has two children, Nicole of Emporia and Vanessa of the home. The couple will celebrate by taking a trip to Key West, Fla. Parents of the couple are Melvina nd Jane Keil of Great Bend and the late Verle and Dora May Cooley.
Burhenn - 50th
The children of Virgil and Bev Burhenn of Great Bend are honoring their parents in celebration of the couple’s 50th wedding anniversary with a card shower, inviting friends and family to send cards to Virgil and Bev Burhenn, Rt. 2, Box 30A, Great Bend, KS 67530. Burhenn and the former Beverly Courson were married Nov. 23, 1953, in Great Bend. They have both shared their life together farming. Their children are Phil Burhenn of Orlando, Fla., Roger and Gayle Fanshier of rural Seward and Paul Burhenn of Great Bend. The couple also has eight grandchildren.
Barrientez - 50th
Bob and Gloria Barrientez will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a party from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Best Western Angus Inn in Great Bend. Barrientez and the former Gloria MacAllister were married Dec. 8, 1953, at the courthouse in Great Bend. Barrientez was self-employed but now retired. She is employed with CPI, Qualified Planned Consultants of Great Bend. The couple has six children, Linda Stephany of Coffeyville, Randy Barrientez of Frisco, Calif., Cindy Becker of Kansas City, Mo., Tim Barrientez and Byron Barrientez, both of Wichita, and Lenora Gross of Lincoln, Neb.
