Hejny - 50th
Orval and Betty Hejny of Olmitz will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 15, 2003 with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at Perkins Restaurant. Family and friends are invited and the couple requests no gifts. Hejny and the former Betty Smith were married Nov. 16, 1953, at Great Bend and have farmed all of their life in the Olmitz community. Their children are Sharon and Charles Satterfield, Debra and David Tammen and Diana Hejny, all of Great Bend, and Rita Hejny of Oklahoma City, Okla. The couple has seven grandchildren, Shawn Satterfield and Shane Satterfield, both of Great Bend, Shawna and Brandon Green of Wichita, and Michael, Matthew and Melissa Tammen, all of Great Bend. The couple has twin great-grandchildren, Alexis and Makayla Satterfield of Great Bend.
Taylor - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. E.B. “Bud” Taylor of Marietta will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception and dance Dec. 31, 2003 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hoisington. Taylor and the former Onita Ann Southard were married on Dec. 24, 1953, in Great Bend, and lived in Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas before moving to Marietta. The couple have two daughters, Lora Huffman of Perryton, Texas, and Robin Whalen of Lone Grove. There are five grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Nobles - 56th
Alice and Danny Nobles of Great Bend will celebrated their 56th anniversary Dec. 19, 2003. The couple was married Dec. 19, 1947, at Kansas City. They have four children; eight grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren. The couple are planning an Alaskan cruise some time in May in honor of the special occasion.
