Ruby and Ira Weaver - 60th
Ira and Ruby Weaver of Topeka celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on Saturday.
Ira Weaver and Ruby Sidebottom met in 1940 at the courthouse water fountain in Versailles, Mo.
They were married Nov. 7, 1942, in Versailles.
Dinner hosts were their daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Alan Martin of Independence, Mo., and Jody and Dave Dunlap of Topeka.
The Weavers have five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Weaver worked for Highway Oil Co. for 35 years.
Mrs. Weaver worked for Highway Oil Co. for 12 years.
Clara and Joseph Schrader - 50th
Joseph and Clara Schrader of Oskaloosa will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Federal Way, Wash., with all of their children and grandchildren.
Clara Vanek and Joseph Schrader were married Nov. 15, 1952, at Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka.
Their children are Deborah Lamphier, Rock Island, Ill.; Daniel and Peggy Schrader, Federal Way, Wash.; and David Schrader, Oklahoma City.
They have five grandchildren, Brittani Schrader, Caitlin Schrader, Brian Schrader, Laura Schrader and Danny Schrader.
Mr. Schrader was employed as a soil conservationist with the Soil Conservation Service at Oskaloosa.
He retired in 1975.
Mrs. Schrader was secretary to the state director of the Farmers Home Administration in Topeka prior to their marriage.
She later worked for many years as a legal secretary in Oskaloosa.
Clif and Lenora Henderson - 60th
Clif and Lenora Henderson of Grantville will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary as guests of honor at a reception from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Grantville Community Center.
Clif Henderson and Lenora Hansford were married Nov. 13, 1942, in Topeka.
Their children are Steven and Amphai Henderson, Grantville; Clifton and Dorothyanne Henderson, Topeka; Curtis Henderson, Grantville; and Marcia McKinney, Topeka.
They have six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Henderson retired in 1984 as a Sheet Metal Workers Union international representative.
Mrs. Henderson is a homemaker.
