Robert and Irene Dark - 50th
Robert and Irene Dark, Lecompton, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 29, 2004 at a surprise reception at the home of Mrs. Dark's brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Carol Kibbee, in Lecompton.
Mr. and Mrs. Dark also plan to celebrate with a trip to the Ozarks.
Robert Dark and Irene Kibbee were married June 13, 1954, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Lecompton.
The reception was hosted by relatives of the couple, Lois Hamrick, Dale and Thelma Bellinger, Kenneth and Carol Kibbee, Bob and Mary Frances Soetaert and John and Dorothy Hetzel and their families.
Mr. Dark is retired from the city of Lawrence.
Mrs. Dark is retired from Western Resources.
David and Dolores Gudenkauf - 40th
David and Dolores Gudenkauf, Ozawkie, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a family barbecue Saturday in Meriden.
Dolores Diebolt and David Gudenkauf were married June 20, 1964, in Bendena.
Hosting the barbecue were their four daughters and spouses, Denise and Jim Tackett, Indianapolis; Daytha and Greg Rodecap, Meriden; Dena and Daryl Alexander, Pleasant Hill, Mo.; and Dee and Mike Nunamaker, Huntingburg, Ind.; and their 10 grandchildren.
Mr. Gudenkauf retired Sept. 18, 2003, from Jostens Printing and Publishing after 42 years of service.
Mrs. Gudenkauf is employed by the Northeast Kansas Educational Service Center, where she has been employed for 20 years.
Clarence and Augusta Howe - 65th
Clarence and Augusta Howe, Topeka, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 12, 2004 with a luncheon and card shower.
They were married June 12, 1939, in Manhattan.
Their children are Larry Howe, Perry, and Martha Majors, Meriden. Their son Lloyd Howe died in 1976.
