Loretta and Jim Barger - 50th
Jim and Loretta Barger, Topeka, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise reception June 19, 2004 at First Missionary Baptist Church in Perry.
The reception was hosted by their son, Steve Barger, their granddaughter, Brook Barger, and Mrs. Barger's sister, Linda Weatherley. All are of Topeka.
Jim Barger and Loretta Weatherley were married June 25, 1954, at the home of the bride's parents in Stuttgart, Ark.
Lloyd and Louellen Montgomery - 65th
Lloyd Russell and Louellen Montgomery, Topeka, will observe their 65th wedding anniversary with a private celebration with their children.
Lloyd Russell Montgomery and Louellen Hoskinson were married July 1, 1939, at the home of the bride's parents in Oskaloosa.
Their five children and spouses are Bruce Montgomery and Judy Kraft, Kansas City, Mo.; Bill and Deborah Scanland, Steve and Cinda Kunkler, Kai and Melissa Follmer, and Russell and Jana Cook, all of Topeka.
They have 10 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Carol and Mike Pottorf - 50th
Mike and Carol Pottorf, of Bonita Springs, Fla., formerly of Oskaloosa, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception and dance from 7 p.m. to midnight July 3 at the American Legion Hall in Ozawkie.
Mike Pottorf and Carol Harbour were married July 4, 1954, in Oskaloosa.
Hosting the occasion will be their children, Rick Pottorf and Chet Pottorf, Ozawkie; Joan and John Blazek, Wichita; Susan Newell, Meriden; and LeAnn and Mike Davis, Virginia Beach, Va.
The Pottorfs have 13 grandchildren.
