The bride is the daughter of Frances Berg Carter of Prairie Village and Steven Carter of Fairway.
The bridegroom is the son of Robert and Jacqueline Hays of Topeka.
The bride's attendants were Brian Carter, Lawrence; Rachel Huntoon, Salem, N.H.; and Beverly Anderson, Portland, Ore.
Attending the groom were Ladd McClain, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Bobbee Palmer, Sunnyvale, Calif.; and Ric Rosenkranz, Iola.
The bride is a graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School and The University of Kansas.
She is a doctoral candidate in early intervention at the University of Oregon.
The groom is a graduate of Topeka West High School and The University of Kansas.
He is a software developer for the Eugene (Ore.) Research Institute and is the head coach for cross country and track at Winston Churchill High School in Eugene.
The newlyweds live in Eugene.
