Joy Wilson and Paul Schlochtermeier were united in marriage in a double-ring ceremony on Aug. 21, 2004 at St Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood with the Rev. John Maes officiating. Maid of honor was Donna Moore, sister-in-law of the bride. Best man was Ed Schlochtemeier, brother of the groom. Lakin Hulse, granddaughter of the bride, Mooresville, N.C., brother of the groom, and Joel Little of Lee’s Summit, Mo., cousin of the groom. Instrumental music was provided by Cathy Hafner of Clay Center, aunt of the bride, organist. Ushers were Matt Hafner of Great Bend, brother of the bride, and Jeremiah Ostmeyer of Overland Park, cousin of the bride. The bride is a 2002 graduate of the University of Kansas with a bachelor of arts in psychology, juvenile justice and delinquency and a KU graduate in 2004 with a masters of social welfare. She is employed by Scott Greening Center for Youth Dependency in Lee’s Summit, Mo., as an adolescent substance abuse therapist. The groom is also a 2002 graduate of the University of Kansas with a bachelor of arts in economics. He is a supervisor at Chrysler Financial in Overland Park. The couple make their home in Shawnee.
