Mills - Cardwell
Dr. Jennifer Ann Mills and Dr. Brent Steven Cardwell were united in marriage Oct. 21, 2000, in a nuptial Mass at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Mannington, W.Va. The Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Drew P. Morgan, a member of the Oratorian Fathers of Pittsburgh.
The bride is the daughter of Ollie and Sarah Mills of Mannington. She is the granddaughter of the late S.N. "Doc" and Florence Elliott, who lived in Mannington, and the late William and Rachel Florence Mills, who lived in Whitesville, Ky.
The bridegroom is the son of Steve and Patricia Cardwell of Topeka. He is the grandson of Dale and Marjorie Stafford and George and Vernice Cardwell, all of Scandia.
The matron of honor was Michele Morgan Mills, York, Pa., sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sheryl Duncan, Las Vegas; Ann Margaret DeKruyff, Boston; and Dr. Deaun Blount, Kansas City, Kan. Madison Taylor Mills, niece of the bride, was the flower girl.
Bryan Cardwell, Lawrence, was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Dr. James D. Mills, York, Pa., brother of the bride; Dale Silvius, Dallas; and Marc McFrazier, Topeka. Drew Morgan Mills, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Betty Potoczny. The soloist was Regina Elliott, New York City, cousin of the bride. The lectors were Denise Daniel, Concord, N.H., and Monte Monfore, Kansas City, Kan. Offertory gifts were presented by Mr. and Mrs. William D. George, Topeka.
Jennifer Naylor, Lawrence, was the guest book attendant.
A reception and dinner followed at Westchester Village in Fairmont, W.Va. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom's parents at the Fairmont Field Club.
The bride is a 1994 graduate of Wellesley College of Massachusetts with a degree in neuroscience. She completed medical school in 1998 at West Virginia University.
The groom is a 1994 graduate of Kansas State University with degrees in microbiology and chemistry. He was graduated in 1998 from The University of Kansas School of Medicine.
The bride and groom are completing their resident physician training in pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Following a honeymoon trip to Fiji, the newlyweds reside in Nashville.
