Gretchen Krause and Edgar Rodriguez were married on June 12, 2004 at College Av. United Methodist Church in Manhattan. Kevin Baxter, Ph.D. of Great Bend, officiated the double ring ceremony. Parents of the bride are Rita and Dr. Richard Krause of Great Bend. Parents of the groom are Carmen Rodriguez of Fort Myers, Fla. and Miguel Rodriguez also of Fort Myers. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a designer gown by Stephen Yearick with a slight sweetheart neckline and a drop waist to a "V" with the bodice adorned in Swarovski crystals and bugle beads. The silk organza hoop skirt was covered in three-dimensional handcrafted flowers decorated with Swarovski crystals and bugle beads. Her cathedral-length veil was sprinkled with crystals and held in place with an original handcrafted Swarovski crystal tiara. Her bridal bouquet was a contemporary round bouquet designed with three dozen white roses tipped-in-pink . Bridesmaids wore floor length strapless watermelon colored silk taffeta gowns with a drop waist, sweetheart neckline, front and back inverted pleats in a complimentary cherry red color. The bridesmaids carried brightly colored nosegay bouquets of roses in the shades of orange, red and pink. Taperlighters for the ceremony were the bride’s cousins: Stacy Kulczewski of Annapolis, Md. and Tyler Williams of Soldier. Ring bearers were Garrett and Gavin Guthrie of Stillwater, Okla., and flower girl was Shaylin Ybarra of Great Bend. The miniature bride was Lyndsey Delvecchio of Manhattan. Ushers were: Tyler and Reid Williams of Soldier, Drake and Rick Krause of Wichita and Ross Rieschick of Manhattan; all cousins of the bride. Music was provided by Jenny Allford, pianist, of Great Bend, Laura Holliday, clarinetist, of Soldier, Elias Hildebrand, soloist, of Chicago, Ill., Marty and Henry Williams, vocalists, aunt and uncle of the bride, of Soldier, Meredith Dutton and Jerod Gorney, vocalists, of Great Bend. Amy Guthrie of Stillwater, Okla. served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Krause of Olathe, sister-in-law of the bride; Marty Anne Kulczewski of Wheaton, Ill., cousin; Misty McDuff of Great Bend; Traci Summers of Orem, Utah; Amanda Bowman of Halstead. Alex Rodriguez of Fort Myers, brother of the groom, served as the best man. The groomsmen were Mac Krause of Olathe, brother of the bride; Matt Delvecchio of Manhattan; Chris Wittman and Patrick Wittman of Fort Myers; Don Sinde of Manhattan. The bride is a 1999 graduate of Great Bend High School and a graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor of science degree in financial planning. She is associated with Waddell-Reed in Manhattan. The groom is a 1997 graduate of Ft. Pierce Westwood High School and a graduate of Indian River Community College and CCAF with an associates degree. He is in the U. S. Air Force, Joint Terminal Attack Controller, stationed in Fort Riley, Junction City. The couple makes their home in Manhattan.
