Amber Dee Wasinger of Ness City and Shane Ryan DeWald of Otis were married on June 12, 2004 at Sacred Heart Parish in Ness City. Rev. Gregory LeBlanc, officiated the Mass and ceremony of holy matrimony. Parents of the couple are Dale and Jeanna Wasinger of Ness City and Don DeWald and Shelly DeWald both of Otis. Grandparents of the couple are Paul and Inez Wasinger of Ness City, Helen Faun Kender of Hollywood, Fla., and Lorraine DeWald of Otis. The bride, given in marriage by her parents, carried a hand-tied bouquet of red roses with baby’s breath and silk ribbons. Heather Parsons of Ness City served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Erin Lovewell, Diana Torline, Tina Pendergraft, Stephanee DeWald and Melissa Cearley. The bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet. Jeff Schneider of the Cayman Islands served as the best man. The groomsmen were Cole DeWald, Lanee Ficken, Dustin McEntarfer, Eric Juno, Jeff Claycamp. Chelsea Faulkender and Bailey Peterson were the flower girls. Cody Stoecklein was the ring bearer. Instrumental music was provided by Suzann Wassinger, organist. Melody Fisher was soloist. Ushers were Scott Schmidt, Travis Koochel, Chris Sohm, Jason Rossman and Jamie Holopirek. The bride is a graduate of Fort Hays State University with a bachelor’s degree in the science of nursing. She is employed by Shawnee Mission Medical Center as a registered nurse. The groom is a graduate of Fort Hays State University with a bachelor’s degree in sports/recreation management and a master’s degree in sports administration from Wichita State University. He is employed by the city of Liberty Parks and Recreation as a program coordinator. The couple makes their home in Olathe.
