Jo Ann Volavka and Timothy Paul Cook, were married Sept. 11, 2004 at the Celebration Community Church of Hays. Rev. Vic Mitchell of Argonia officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mike and Debbie Volavka of Caldwell. She is the granddaughter of Barbara and Joe Wright of Anthony and Bob and Judy Siemsen of Holyrood and great-granddaughter of Ruby Strube of Kingman. The groom is the son of Terry and Cindy Cook of Cheyenne, Wyo. He is the grandson of Ernest Hawes of Albion, Maine. The bride wore a white, satin A-line gown with a scooped neck, tank top style, with beaded and sequin reembroidered lace appliques, aproned back skirt with a bustle look and cathedral train. Her bouquet consisted of pink stargazer lilies, white roses and blue buttons. Maid of honor was Adrienne Sharpe of Fort Collins, Colo. Bridesmaids were Alicia Cabral of Deerfield; Rebecca Wailes of Strasburg, Colo.; Brenn Harper of Argonia; Sonya Plass, cousin of the bride, stationed in Germany. Best man was Geoff Sharpe of Laramie, Wyo. Groomsmen were Brian Cook, brother of the groom, of Grand Junction, Colo.; Steve Hansen, Kenn Richardson, both of Laramie; and Jeremiah Kolkman of Cheyenne. Ushers were Kevin Volavka, Lyle Volavka, brothers of bride, both of Caldwell; and Jason Siemsen, cousin of bride, of Hays. Flowergirl was Josephine Clark of Centennial, Colo. Ring Bearer was Winston Ruder of Deerfield. Candlelighters were Ashley Werner and Danielle Werner, cousins of the bride, both of Attica. Vocalist was Cassie Belmear of Caldwell. The bride is a 1999 graduate of Argonia High School and 2002 graduate of Fort Hays State University and is currently a CT technologist at Lutheran Medical Center of Wheat Ridge, Colo. The groom is a 1996 graduate of Minot High School and 2004 graduate of the University of Wyoming. He also served in the United States Air National Guard. He is employed by Bally’s as a personal trainer. The couple resides in Littleton, Colo.
