Caicey Schartz, daughter of Curtis and Lila Schartz of Great Bend and Tyler Crutcher, son of Robert and Donita Crutcher of Hoisington, were united in marriage Sept. 25, 2004 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Ellinwood. Pastor Larry Young officiated the double ring ceremony. Grandparents of the bride are Mabel Stickney of Ellinwood and the late Thomas Stickney and Nadine Schartz of Ellinwood and Warren Schartz of Great Bend. The groom’s grandparents are Evelyn Bahr of Hoisington and the late Francis Bahr and Alwana Crutcher of Hoisington and the late William Crutcher. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white two-piece gown featuring a strapless bustier bodice over an A-line skirt with a chapel train. The bodice was covered with embroidered lace and delicate beading that also edged the skirt. The bride’s headpiece was a pearl and crystal tiara featuring a fingertip veil edged with pearls made by Alicia Straub, the bride’s sister. She carried a bouquet of wine and cream roses tied with lace. Her attendants wore champagne strapless A-line gowns. Maid of honor was Sarah Schartz of Manhattan, sister of the bride. Matron of honor was Alicia Straub of Stroudsburg, Pa., sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Carla Crutcher of Manhattan, Sarah Jackson of Garden City and Jennifer Rogers of Ellinwood. They all carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet, which were all made by the bride. Best man was Jared Loesch of Hoisington. Groomsmen were Dustin Ritter of Englewood, Colo.; Travis Crutcher of Manhattan, brother of the groom; Richard Funk of Hoisington; and Travis Urban of Hoisington. Ushers were Jared Schartz and Craig Schartz both of Ellinwood and Daniel Schartz of Great Bend, all brothers of the bride; and Mike Riese of Hoisington. The flower girl was Jena Ernsting of Hays and ring bearer was Colton Churchill of Ellinwood. The miniature bride was Alexa Straub of Stroudsburg, Pa., niece of the bride, and miniature groom was Ryan Woydziak of Hoisington. Candle lighters were Haley Batchman and Chelsea Churchill of Ellinwood. Music was provided by pianist, Lorrie Stickney of Great Bend, aunt of the bride. The bride is a graduate of Ellinwood High School and Friends University. She is an administrative assistant at Barton County Community College. The groom is a graduate of Hoisington High School and Salina Technical School. He is employed by Leon’s Midwest Appliance Service of Great Bend. The couple resides in Hoisington.
