Brooke Ashlee West and Kipp Alan Connell were married on Dec. 11, 2004 at Countryside United Methodist Church in Topeka. The Rev. Paul B. Mitchell, officiated the double-ring ceremony. Parents of the bride are Randall and Karon West of Colony. Grandparents of the bride are Roberta and Robert West of Colony and Aaron and Sandra Hosley of Kincaid; great-grandmother is Mary McGee of Colony. Parents of the groom are Mark and Kim Connell of Claflin. Grandparents of the groom are Richard and Bonnie Connell, Arlene Strube and great-grandmother is Mary Hoffman all are of Claflin. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a two-piece satin Maggie Sottero gown with a beaded bodice and form-fitting skirt with a short train. The bridal bouquet consisted of 30 Charolette roses in a silver tussie mussie. Kandice Connell of Topeka, sister of the groom, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Krystal Connell, sister of the groom, of Topeka; Kylie West, aunt of the bride, of Columbia, Mo.; and Jen Fowler of Lawrence. The bridesmaids wore two-piece red satin, claret gowns with a beaded wrap-around bodice and an A-line skirt. They carried bouquets of eight white avalanche roses in a silver tussie mussie. Kyler Connell, brother of the groom, of Claflin and Blake West, brother of the bride, of Topeka served as the best men. The groomsmen were Brandon Grosshardt of Rochester, Minn, and Kip Kraisinger, of Topeka. Music was provided by Karie Krier of Manhattan, vocalist; Adam Weaver of Topeka, guitarist; and Dr. Daniel Berghout of Topeka, pianist. Candlelighters were Mariah Webb, cousin of the groom, of Eudora and Darick Stalnaker, cousin of the bride, of Arkansas City. Ushers were Eric West, brother of the bride of Olpe, Brent Stalnaker, cousin of the bride, of Arkansas City, Ryan West, brother of the bride, of Topeka, Evin and Erin Beck, cousins of the groom, of Topeka. The bride is a 2000 graduate of Crest High School and a 2004 graduate of Washburn University with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in mass media. She is employed by Glynn-Devins Advertising in Overland Park as an account. The groom is a 1999 graduate of Claflin High School and 2004 graduate of Washburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in computer information systems and a Bachelor of Business Administration. He is a systems analyst employed by the Lawrence Police Department. The couple makes their home in Overland Park.
