Melinda Crawford and Shane Gorney were married on Nov. 6, 2004, at First Christian Church in Great Bend. The Rev. Bill Johnson officiated the Mass and double-ring ceremony. Parents of the couple are Rick Crawford, Susan Campbell and Randy and Terri Gorney. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an elegant diamond-white matte-satin gown styled in a two-piece ball gown silhouette featuring a strapless long-waisted bustier-styled top, all fully embellished in a delicate all-over beaded pattern. The ball-gown skirt swept into its own extended chapel train and featured a double-tail accenting the train and border of matching beadwork near the skirt hem. A crystal and rhinestone tiara added a crowning touch to her ensemble. Candis Ehrlich of Great Bend served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Meghan Kern and Jessica Schmidtberger, both of Great Bend. Jerad Gorney of Great Bend served as the best man. The groomsmen were J.J. McAnulla of Oklahoma and Jason McAnulla of Great Bend. Ushers were Nick Christiansen of Great Bend and Travis McDonald of Hays. The bride is a graduate of Great Bend High School. She graduated from Barton County Community College with an associate’s degree in nursing and science. She is a registered nurse employed by The Surgical Center in Great Bend. The groom is a graduate of Great Bend High School. He is a corrosion control engineer for Gutherie Steaming and Tank Service. The couple makes their home in Great Bend.
