Merry Murray of Great Bend and Gordon Wayne Rogers of Derby were united in marriage Dec. 18, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church in Great Bend. The Rev. Gary Brooks officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Walt and Mickey Murray of Great Bend. The groom is the son of the late Melvin and Opal Rogers. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a satin and lace gown that was embellished with pearl and crystal beading, featuring a sweetheart neckline and a semi-cathedral train. The bride carried a bouquet of purple hydrangeas. The matron of honor was Jamie Young of Derby. The bridesmaids were Candi Lunsford of Seward, Lila Vondracek of Timken and Jann Curtright of Salina. They carried bouquets of purple hydrangeas. The best man was Kenny Rogers, brother of the groom, of San Antonio, Texas. The groomsmen were Jeff Durocher, Dean Tuinstra and Mike Young, all of Derby. The flower girl was Kilee Webb of Derby. The ring bearer was Andrew Curtright of Salina. The candle lighter was Zack Rabenseifner of Seward. The bride is a graduate of Great Bend High School, Barton County Community College and Fort Hays State University with a degree in communications. She is employed at KSNC-TV and Dairy Queen. The groom is a graduate of Raytown South High School in Raytown, Mo. He is employed by the Kansas Air National Guard. The couple resides in Great Bend and Derby.
