Edythe Ann Paden and Ricky Alan Calvert were united in marriage April 2, 2005 in a double-ring ceremony at the First Church of the Nazarene in Great Bend. The bride's father, Don Paden, pastor of the Pawnee Rock Christian Church, officiated at the ceremony, assisted by Pastor Robert Castile of the First Church of the Nazarene. Parents of the couple are Don and Beth Paden and Sylvia Calvert, all of Great Bend, and the late Don Calvert. Matron of honor was Shari Karst, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kathy Covert, sister of the bride, Amy Paden, sister-in-law of the bride, and Alissa Schartz and Shonita Fox, friends of the bride. Flower girl, Avery Covert, is the bride's niece. Best man was Jim Michael, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Chris Michael, brother of the groom, Tim Lewis, David Lanterman and Ben Shumate. Ring bearer, Ethan Covert, is the bride's nephew. Branden Paden and his father Bill, the bride's brother ,were ushers. Joy Oden of Stafford and Lisa and Kevin Ingram of Manhattan provided music. During the reception at the 4-H Building, the bride's parents were surprised with an early celebration of their 40th wedding anniversary planned by their children. Their children and spouses are: Kathy Covert of Detroit, Mich. (husband, Steve, was unable to attend), David and Amy Paden, Bill and Anne Paden, Edy and Rick Calvert, and Shari and Tim Karst. all of Great Bend. The couple also have nine grandchildren: Ethan, Avery and Adam Covert, Mason, Daulton and Dylon Paden, and Austin Young, Branden and Donovan Paden.
