Graveside services for Ruth V. Connett, 82, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Connett died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.
She was born Jan. 23, 1922, in Syracuse, Kan., the daughter of Paul and Eudora Walton Womeldorf. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1940 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Friends University in Wichita in 1943. She also received a master's degree in education from Kansas University in 1966.
Mrs. Connett taught in Lawrence, Parsons, Topeka and De Soto in the special education departments. She was a member and had served as an officer of Tau chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa honorary sorority for female educators. She also was a member of Central United Methodist Church. She married David Spencer. They divorced. She married James E. Connett on March 17, 1962, in Shawnee. He died May 23, 2001.
Survivors include three daughters, Paula Connett-Crouse, Karen Oberzan and Marilyn Amyx, all of Lawrence; a brother, Harry Womeldorf, Rochester, N.Y.; a sister, Lois McAlister, Shawnee; and four grandchildren. Arlan Kay Colman

Graveside services for Arlan Kay Colman, 50, Shawnee, were Friday, Oct. 1, at Eudora Cemetery. A memorial service will be at a later date at Bethesda's Faith Village in Shawnee.
Miss Colman died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004, at Royal Terrace Nursing Home in Olathe.
She was born Aug. 7, 1954, in Lawrence, the daughter of Keith and Janice Guenther Colman. She was a resident of Bethesda's Faith Village Campus in Shawnee for the past 16 years. She formerly resided at the Kansas Neurological Institute in Topeka.
Miss Colman was a production worker for JDS Workshop in Shawnee. She also participated in Special Olympics most of her life.
Survivors include her parents, Eudora, and a sister, Carolyn Rogers, Lawrence. The family suggests memorials to Bethesda's Faith Village, sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. E-mail condolences may be sent to info@warrenmcelwain.com, subject: Colman.
Ernest Fredrick Waitzmann

Ernest Fredrick Waitzmann, 76, Olathe, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, at his home. Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church; entombment in the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. A rosary recitation will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Amos Family Chapel of Lenexa; visitation will follow until 8 p.m.
Mr. Waitzmann was born Sept. 28, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Frederick and Alma Waitzmann. He married Judith Larkins on June 19, 1955, in Kansas City, Mo. He worked for 43 years as a lithographer (printer) and he was a member of the GCIU Local 235.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1953. He was stationed in Germany. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Olathe, and a member of the Olathe/Eastern Kansas Right to Life for 15 years. He loved being outdoors in the garden and fishing, and he was an avid woodworker and a great help to many people.
He was preceded in death by his four sisters. He is survived by his wife, Judy, of the home; five children, Deborah Ann Gardner and Gary Stone, Olathe; Denice Bradfield and Mark, Olathe; Michael Chad Waitzmann, Hutchinson, Kan.; Steve Allen Waitzmann and Sharon, Baldwin City, Kan.; and Diane Renee Swanson and Michael, Olathe; seven grandchildren, Brian, Rachelle, Dustin, Christopher, Ashley, Jennifer and Joshua; one great-granddaughter, Kathlynn; two brothers, Kenneth and Franklin Waitzmann; and two sisters, Anita Shafer and Carol McNally.

William F. Small, 63, of Basehor, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan.
Services were held Monday at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Kan. The family suggests memorial contributions to K.U. Cancer Center c/o the funeral home.
Mr. Small was born Dec. 13, 1940, in Kansas City, Kan. He lived most of his life in the Kansas City, Kan., area and had lived briefly in Montana and Colorado. He was a truck driver most of his working life. He worked for Safeway in Kansas City, Kan. for 10 years and more recently he enjoyed working for Jim Cannon Trucking for the last seven years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mildred Small. Survivors include the wife, Sande Small, of the home; a son, Bubba Small and wife Tobi of Maysville, Mo.; a daughter, Brandy Downey and husband Tim of Bates City, Mo.; a step-son, Robert Walker and wife Trish of Kansas City, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Tonya Rahija of Kansas City, Kan., and Crystal Vervaecke and husband Michael of Linn Valley, Kan.; a sister, Nancy Sphar and husband Shelby of El Dorado, Kan.; and seven granddaughters.
