Duane Allen Otterson "Otto", 61, Paola, Kan. passed away Saturday, October 2, 2004 at his home. Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 7, 2004 at the Leavenworth V.A. National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kan. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association in c/o Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
Mr. Otterson was born August 12, 1943 in Fargo, No. Dakota. He moved to the Kansas City area in 1960 and worked for over 30 years for the A.D.M. Co. in Olathe as a maintenance man until retiring in 2002. Since then he worked maintenance for C.F.S. Withholdings, Inc. He previously volunteered for the Linwood, Kan. Fire Department and was a past member of the Basehor, Kan. Jaycees and Lions Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam war.
Survivors include wife, Susan Otterson, Olathe; two sons, Pedro Munoz, Tonganoxie, Kan. and William Munoz, Lenexa, Kan.; one daughter, Jeannie Howard, Lawson, Mo.; his mother Bernette Otterson, Fargo, No. Dakota and nine grandchildren.

Margaret Brauer, 88, Shawnee, passed away October 4, 2004 at Shawnee Gardens Care Center. Services will be held Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A private inurnment will be held by her family at Memorial park Cemetery in Lexington, Mo. The family suggests donations to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
Margaret was born October 17, 1915 in Emporia, Kan. She has been a resident of the Kansas City area since 1969. She attended the University of Missouri Columbia. Margaret was Miss Missouri 1936 and fourth runner up for Miss America that year. She is survived by her son Jim Brauer and his wife Pam of Shawnee, Kan.; her daughter Barbara Orosz and her husband Jerry of Irvine, Calif.; four grandchildren and a brother James Price . Bertha E. Bohannon, 101, Leavenworth (formerly of Bonner Springs) passed away Sunday, October 3, 2004 at the Colonial Manor o f Lansing, Kan.
She was born the daughter of Jacob and Anna E. (Zuehike) Blanz on May 17, 1903 in Kansas City, Kan.
She married Robert E. Bohannon on September 23, 1995 in Lansing. He passed away February 18, 2004.
Bertha retired from Sunshine Biscuit Company and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Leavenworth. She had lived in Bonner Springs until moving to Leavenworth in 1995.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Helen Johnson, Lansing, four grandchildren, Mary Ann Oertel, Kansas City, Kan., Sister Eileen Marie Johnson, Anaconda, Mont., Linda Powers, Lansing and Jimmy Johnson, Monroe, La.; six great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren and sister Helen Fenton, Tonganoxie, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, brothers Roy Blanz and John Blanz, sisters Louise Treas and Florence Saunders, son and daughter-in-law Harold and Doris Johnson, and two infant sons.
Funeral services and burial were held Wednesday at the Barnett-Larkin-Brown Funeral Home, Leavenworth, Kan.
The family suggests memorials to be made to the church in care of the Funeral Home in lieu of flowers.
Ruth V. Connett

Graveside services for Ruth V. Connett, 82, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Connett died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.
She was born Jan. 23, 1922, in Syracuse, Kan., the daughter of Paul and Eudora Walton Womeldorf. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1940 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Friends University in Wichita in 1943. She also received a master's degree in education from Kansas University in 1966.
Mrs. Connett taught in Lawrence, Parsons, Topeka and De Soto in the special education departments. She was a member and had served as an officer of Tau chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa honorary sorority for female educators. She also was a member of Central United Methodist Church. She married David Spencer. They divorced. She married James E. Connett on March 17, 1962, in Shawnee. He died May 23, 2001.
Survivors include three daughters, Paula Connett-Crouse, Karen Oberzan and Marilyn Amyx, all of Lawrence; a brother, Harry Womeldorf, Rochester, N.Y.; a sister, Lois McAlister, Shawnee; and four grandchildren.
