Lillus E. Berg
Lillus E. Berg, 79, died Dec. 13, 2001, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Jan. 28, 1922, at McPherson, the son of J.R. and Lillian Ben-son Berg and his stepmother, Helen Gar-ner Berg. A longtime Hutchinson resident, formerly of McPherson and Dodge City, he was a graduate of McPherson College. He worked for the Kansas Employment Office, McPherson, and for more than 30 years at the Kansas Commission on Veteran Affairs. He served in the U.S. Navy as quartermaster second class during World War II.
He belonged to First United Methodist Church, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68, and VFW Bob Campbell Post No. 1361, all at Hutchinson. He was a former member of American Legion Post No. 24, and the Elks Lodge, both at McPherson.
Survivors include: a brother, Garner Berg, Hays; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Florene Easton.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Mark Conard presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Delbert Marlin Mitchell
Delbert Marlin Mitchell, 77, Hutchinson, died Dec. 14, 2001, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Dec. 4, 1924, at Topeka, the son of Dudley M. and Opal Strickler Mitchell. A longtime Hutchinson resident, he was em-ployed by Dillon stores for 37 years, retiring in 1987 as a truck driver.
He belonged to Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church, Hutchinson. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he was a private first class with the Armored Regiment in the 20th Division.
On Feb. 22, 1948, he married Kathryn L. Wiens at Inman. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Dean M., Little River; two daughters, Brenda L. White, Buhler, and Barbara J. Detter, Hutchinson; a brother, Raymond, Topeka; two sisters, Loretta Cogzill, Hutchinson, and Roberta Fleming, San Clemente, Calif.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Alan D. Stambaugh presiding. Agnes E. Graber
MOUNDRIDGE - Agnes E. Graber, 92, died Dec. 14, 2001, at Memorial Home, Moundridge.
She was born Jan. 8, 1909, at Moundridge, the daughter of Christian C. and Maria Stucky Graber. A lifetime Moundridge area resident, she was an elementary school teacher.
She belonged to First Mennonite Church of Christian, Moundridge.
Survivors include: three brothers, Waldo Graber, Liberal, and Milton "Tony" Graber and Marlo Graber, both of Hesston; and two sisters, Ruth Reimer, Goessel, and Lorene T. Goering, Moundridge.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Graber; and two sisters, Edna Graber and Linda Voth.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Mennonite Church of Christian died Dec. 14, 2001, at Cherry Village Nursing, Great Bend.
She was born Sept. 1, 1916, in Rush County, the daughter of Conrad and Rosalina Neece Tammen. A lifetime Larned resident, she was a housewife and homemaker.
She belonged to Grace Lutheran Church, Larned.
On Nov. 25, 1937, she married Alvin H. Hanken at Albert. He died March 6, 1993.
Survivors include: a son, Don, Larned; a daughter, Deanne Weathers, Great Bend; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred and Walter Tammen and an infant brother; and four sisters, Hilda Peterson, Ida Nagel, Etta Estes and Frieda Tammen.

She was born Dec. 21, 1922, at Liebenthal, the daughter of Adam and Mary Gaube Kreutzer. A resident of Great Bend since 1949, formerly of Liebenthal, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to St. Patrick Catholic Church and Bungalow FCE, and was a founding member of the Concorde Group, all at Great Bend.
In 1959 she married T.D. Sweetman at Great Bend. He died in January 1985.
Survivors include: a son, Gary Dino, Great Bend; a daughter, Tammy Scheuerman, Great Bend; three brothers, John Kreutzer, Wichita, Joe Kreutzer, Lenexa, and George Kreutzer, Midland, Texas; two sisters, Melvina Francis, Great Bend, and Geneva Sweetman, Wichita; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna J. Kern; two brothers, James and Tony Kreutzer; and two sisters, Mary McMullen and Frances Denning.

He was born Aug. 18, 1920, in Kiowa County, the son of Solomon B. and Katie Wadel Jantz. A lifetime resident of the Greensburg area, he was a compressor/operator for Northern Natural Gas Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1982.
He belonged to Greensburg Mennonite Church.
On June 12, 1948, he married Margaret Louise Diener at Wellman, Iowa. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Jerry, Independence, Mo.; a daughter, Mary Ellen Jantz, Buhler; four brothers, Wesley and Wallace, both of Hesston, Dewayne and Melvin, both of Haviland; three sisters, Berniece Schmidt, Alice Wayne and Doris Diller, all of Hesston; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Diller.

Carl E. McNaught
GARDEN CITY - Carl E. McNaught, 89, died Dec. 15, 2001, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.
He was born Feb. 25, 1912, at Pratt, the son of Vern and Beulah Ziegler McNaught. A former resident of Byers, Syracuse and San Francisco, he had lived in Garden City since his marriage. He worked at Miracle Grocery Store, Syracuse, Nolan Motor Co., Garden City, Quaker Oats, San Francisco, and finally at Schreiber Motors, Garden City. He retired in 1983. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He belonged to the Presbyterian Church and the American Legion, both at Garden City.
On May 18, 1946, he married Marian Morphett at LaGrange, Ill. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Richard, Garden City; two daughters, Marsha Golay and Melinda Hitz, both of Garden City; a brother, Ray, Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; four sisters, Helen Parnel, Wichita, Hazel Hudak, Mesa, Ariz., Nellie Turner, Elmira, Ore., and Lois Dikeman, Syracuse; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Floyd; a sister, Jewel Weisenthal; and a grandson.

She was born April 30, 1917, at Barton County, the daughter of Frank and Anna Hoffman Tinkel. A lifetime Barton County resident, she was retired from the USD No. 354 school lunch program.
She belonged to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella, all at Claflin.
Survivors include: a brother, Albert Tinkel, Claflin; and three sisters, Elizabeth Zorn, Claflin, Ann Urban, Hoisington, and Bernice Zorn, Smith Center.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony and Frank Tinkel Jr.; and a sister, Regina Birzer.

She was born March 3, 1905, at Seward, the daughter of Matthew Franklin and Gertrude Keenan Rickert. A two-year resident of Topeka, formerly of Great Bend and Ellinwood, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, St. Rose Altar Society and the League of Women's Voters, all at Great Bend.
Survivors include: two sons, Wade and Thon, both of Great Bend; two daughters; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was born Dec. 7, 1908, at Henryetta, Okla., the daughter of Jacob and Ola Mae Wells Redd. She was a homemaker.
On Jan. 26, 1924, she married William Talbert Waggoner at North Little Rock, Ark. He died Dec. 9, 1950. On Nov. 27, 1948, she married David M. Towry at Atoka, Okla. He died Feb. 27, 1996.
Survivors include: seven sons, Tommy Waggoner, Bucklin, William Waggoner, Atoka, Jack Waggoner, Finnley, Tenn., John Waggoner, Moore, Okla., Jim Waggoner, Hawthorne, Okla., Dale Waggoner, Mexia, Texas, and Robert Towry, Bucklin; a daughter, Louise Brackett, Yuba, Okla.; 32 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two children, Bobby Jean and Fred Waggoner.

AUSTIN, Texas - Laura Vade, 95, died Dec. 13, 2001, at Austin.
She was born July 18, 1906, at Olpe, the daughter of John and Pauline Drews Moellman. A resident of Austin, formerly of Olpe, she was a homemaker.
She married John E. Vade. He died June 7, 1982.
Survivors include: a son; five daughters; 22 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
