Everett Eugene Kaufman
KINGMAN - Everett Eugene Kaufman, 75, died March 23, 2000, at his home in Kingman.
He was born April 13, 1924, in Kingman County, the son of Rudolph "R.E." and Caroline "Carrie" Kaufman. A lifetime Kingman resident, he was a retired Cessna Aircraft employee.
He belonged to First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie.
On June 4, 1950, he married Eileen Schwartz at Pretty Prairie. She survives.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Karen Helm, Penalosa, Kathy Kuhns, Albuquerque, N.M., and Debbie Lechner, Wichita; a brother, Clifford, Kingman; three sisters, Evelyn Meisenheimer and Viola Albrecht, both of Kingman, and Doris Kaufman, Wichita; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Darrel; a brother, Gilbert; and a sister, Dora Kaufman.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman, with Pastors Lester Zook and Peter Voran presiding. Friends may call from noon to 5 p.m. today and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in First Mennonite Church Cem-etery, Pretty Prairie.
Memorials may be sent to the Kingman Cancer Care Group, Victory in the Valley or Hospice Inc., all in care of the funeral home.

Ellen M. Truhlar
LORRAINE - Ellen M. Truhlar, 88, died March 23, 2000, at Ellsworth Good Samaritan Retirement Center.
She was born July 16, 1911, at Green Garden Township in Ellsworth County, the daughter of Walter and Emily Janssen Steinberg. She graduated from Lorraine High School and McPherson College. A lifetime Ellsworth County resident, she was a homemaker and taught school at Geneseo, Smolan, Little River and Ellsworth.
She belonged to Lorraine Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Fellowship.
On Aug. 8, 1945, she married Joseph E. Truhlar at Lorraine. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Larry Suiter, Lorraine; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, a nephew and a niece.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lorraine Baptist Church, with Pastor Calvin Alderink presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, and 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Lorraine Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the church, the Ellsworth Good Samaritan Retirement Center or to Gideons International, all in care of the funeral home.

Herman Ratzlaff
SCOTT CITY - Herman Ratzlaff, 85, died March 23, 2000, at Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott City.
He was born Aug. 10, 1914, at Protection, the son of Bernard and Marie Schultz Ratzlaff. A Scott City resident since 1944, moving from Fredonia, he was a farmer.
He belonged to First Baptist Church, Scott City.
On July 11, 1935, he married Elsie Dirks at Syracuse.
Survivors include: eight sons, Chester, Virgil and Galen, all of Scott City, Garry, Holcomb, Delbert and Leonard, both of Tulsa, Okla., Milford, Boulder, Colo., and Michael, Russellville, Ark.; three daughters, Virginia Koehn, Montezuma, Joyce Koehn, Garden City, and Glenda Ryan, Scott City; a sister, Suzanna Unruh, Montezuma; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sons, Merrill, Gerald and Melvin; two grandsons and 19 brothers and sisters.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, Scott City, with the Rev. Lynne Smith presiding. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Scott City. Burial will be in Scott County Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church or the Park Lane Nursing Home, both in care of the funeral home.

Donnal G. Fuson
LYONS - Donnal G. Fuson, 97, died March 24, 2000, at Lyons District Hospital.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons.

Esther L. Emswiler
McPHERSON - Esther L. Emswiler, 84, died March 21, 2000, at the Cedars, McPherson.
She was born Feb. 28, 1916, in rural Minot., N.D., the daughter of Blaine C. and DiaDama Lavina Smith Witham. A McPherson resident since 1972, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Church of the Brethren, Quilters of the church, Cedars Guild and Elite Club, all at McPherson.
On Aug. 22, 1937, she married Mark W. Emswiler at Surrey, N.D. He died May 30, 1987.
Survivors include: a daughter, Janis Sams, Hutchinson; a brother, Burton Witham, Oliver, B.C., Canada; three sisters, Agnes Hemenway, Salem, Ore., Thelma Sheets, McPherson, and Evelyn Irwin, Rolla, Mo.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Emery, Claude, Lyle, Gerald, Robert and Wayne; and a sister, Ruth Luchsinger.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, in McPherson Cemetery, with Dr. Don Booz and the Rev. Chris Whitacre presiding. Interment of cremains will be in McPherson Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the Cedars or to McPherson Church of the Brethren, both in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson.

Don Ray McFarland
IUKA - Don Ray McFarland, 64, died March 23, 2000, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
He was born Dec. 11, 1935, at Beggs, Okla., the son of Francis Boyle and Mattie Valda Howard McFar-land. An Iuka resident since 1965, formerly of St. John and Arkansas City, he worked in the fertilizer de-partment for Iuka Co-op.
He belonged to Iuka Meth-odist Church and was a past Iuka city councilman.
On July 3, 1952, he married Gloria Wilson at Arkansas City. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Eddie, St. John, and Don Jr., Haviland; two daughters, Tina Norris, Wichita, and Dana Divine, Preston; two sisters, Mary Irby, Casper, Wyo., and Phyllis Reese, Lake Elsinore, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Free Methodist Church, Pratt, with the Rev. Ken Keeling presid-ing. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt. Burial will be in Iuka Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to Southwind Hospice or the United Way, both in care of the mortuary.

Carla Jean Fravel
FORD - Carla Jean Fravel, 46, died March 23, 2000, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
She was born Nov. 2, 1953, at Dodge City, the daughter of Eugene and Ruth Nell Dunker Fravel. A long-time Ford-area resident, she was a waitress.
She belonged to the Community Church, Ford.
Survivors include: her mother, Ford; and three brothers, Kent Fravel, Ford, Rod Gifford, Wichita, and Rocky Gifford, Malden, Mass.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Minnis Mortuary Chapel, Bucklin, with Pastor Bob Smith presiding. The body was donated to science.
Memorials may be sent to the Make A Wish Foundation, in care of the mortuary.

Regina Edwards Birney
DODGE CITY - Regina Edwards Birney, 58, died March 23, 2000, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
She was born Oct. 8, 1941, at Houston, the daughter of C.W. and Sybil Clapp Edwards. She grew up in Hereford, Texas, and graduated from Hereford High School. She attended Texas Women's University, Denton, Texas, and graduated from Fort Hays State University. She taught school in Indiana for a short time and later sold insurance in southwest Kansas.
She belonged to St. Cornelius Episcopal Church, Dodge City.
Survivors include: her mother, Dodge City; a son, James, Dodge City; and a granddaughter.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Cornelius Episcopal Church, Dodge City, with the Rev. Dennis Zimmerman presiding. Friends may call from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Burial will be in Greenview Cemetery, Sulphur Springs, Texas.
Memorials may be sent to the church in care of the funeral home.

Michael Leigh Milloway
LARNED - Michael Leigh Milloway, 45, died March 23, 2000, at Northwest Texas Hospital, Amarillo, Texas.
He was born March 31, 1954, at Larned, the son of Max W. and Evelyn Hewett Milloway. He graduated from Plainview High School and attended South Plains College for two years. A lifetime Plainview, Texas, resident, he was a construction worker.
He belonged to First Christian Church, Tulia, Texas, and he was a member of the Hi-Plains Gem & Mineral Society.
Survivors include: a stepdaughter, Charity Shone, Plainview; two brothers, Richard, Tulia, and James, Gainsville, Texas; a sister, Joanne D'urso, Springfield, Va.; and seven nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Melodie.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Larned Cemetery with Pastor Daniel Lundgren presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned.

Ruth E. Pleasant
NAMPA, Idaho - Ruth E. Pleasant, 93, died March 20, 2000, at Nampa, Idaho.
She was born Aug. 28, 1906, at Kinsley, the daughter of Cyras S. and Lorna Board Young. A longtime Dodge City resident, moving to Nampa in 1998, she worked as a nurse's aide.
She belonged to the Church of God in Christ, Dodge City.
In 1930, she married Paul Pleasant at Dodge City. He died in 1978.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert, Nampa, and John, Denver; two daughters, Maxine Bulock, Auburn, Wash., and Juanita Williams, Zion, Ill.; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Burkhart Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with Elders Paul Bradshaw and Arthur Foote presiding. Friends may call from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
Memorials may be sent to the church in care of the funeral chapel.

Ardise Fisk Greenlee
GREAT BEND - Ardise Fisk Greenlee, 95, died March 23, 2000, at Cherry Village Nursing Center, Great Bend.
She was born July 12, 1904, at Claflin, the daughter of Emmett T. and Margaret Fisk Greenlee. A lifetime Barton County resident, she was a former schoolteacher.
She belonged to First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women's Club, Retired Teachers Association, the R.S.V.P. Club and Portia Club and the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include: two nephews, Richard Greenlee, Bella Vista, Ark., and Jim Greenlee, Wausau, Wis.; and two nieces, Kathy and Kelly Greenlee, both of Stelle, Ill.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Maurice Greenlee.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bryant-Christians Funeral Home Chapel, Great Bend, with the Rev. Dick Near presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the church in care of the funeral home.

Guy V. Karp
WELLINGTON - Guy V. Karp, 77, died March 23, 2000, at Medicalodge North Post Acute Care and Rehabilitation Center, Arkansas City.
He was born Oct. 24, 1922, in Dill, Okla., the son of Charles and Laura Barnett Karp. He graduated from Kiowa High School in 1941, and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 40 years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
On Nov. 1, 1946, he married Pauline Belva Carithers at Wichita. She died in 1996.
Survivors include: a stepson; a brother; four sisters, including Joy Mayfield, Medicine Lodge; and numer-ous other relatives.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hawks Funeral Home, Wellington. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Wellington.

Victor Orville Nunemaker
KINGMAN - Victor Orville Nunemaker, 83, died March 24, 2000, at Kingman Community Hospital.
He was born July 28, 1916, at Langdon, the son of John and Vivian E. Cox Nunemaker. A longtime King-man resident, he was a retired farmer.
He belonged to Kingman Christian Church and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 199, both at Kingman. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: a sister, Agnes Locke, Arlington; a nephew; a niece; several great-nephews and great-nieces; and several great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman, with Pastor Matt Keith pre-siding. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Kingman.
Memorials may be sent to the Kingman Christian Church Building Fund, in care of the funeral home.

Leroy E. Britton
FLORENCE - Leroy E. Britton, 59, died March 23, 2000, at El Dorado.
He was born Aug. 3, 1940, at Newton, the son of Howard Eugene and Joshephine Isabell Seeney Britton. A Florence resident, he was a retired oil-field worker and welder.
Survivors include: three sons, John, Missouri, Don, Amarillo, Texas, and Mike, Oklahoma City; four daughters, Verna Grosse, El Dorado, Shannon Britton, Nicoma Park, Okla., Leah Schmidt and Ina Britton, both of Marion; a brother, David, Omaha, Neb.; three sisters, Linda Britton, Florence, Janie Munsy, Amagorda, N.M., and Nelta Harder, Emporia; and five grandchildren.
Inurnment will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be sent to the Marion County Home Health, in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, Florence.

Paul H. Nelson
McPHERSON - Paul H. Nelson, 92, died March 24, 2000, at the Cedars, McPherson.
