Geneva Whiting
Geneva Whiting, 83, of Hutchinson, died May 5, 2000, at her home.
She was born Aug. 16, 1916, at Fredonia, the daughter of Charlie and Mable Chamberlain Neese. She attended school in Fredonia. A Hutchinson resident since 1993, formerly of Raymond, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Cornerstone Baptist Church, Hutchinson, and served on the Rice County Election Board.
On Dec. 31, 1933, she married
William Henry Whiting at Syracuse. He died Sept. 21, 1997.
Survivors include: a son, Dale, Mountain Home, Ark.; two daughters, Virginia Hawkinson, Hutchinson, and Juanita Meier, Pratt; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Johnson & Sons Funeral Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Larry Wedel presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery, Hutchinson.

Dale Meurisse
Dale Meurisse, 64, of Hutchinson, died May 5, 2000, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Jan. 12, 1936, at Brookville, the son of Leo C. and A. Eleanor Meurisse. He was a graduate of Brookville High School. A Hutchinson resident since 1970, formerly of Brookville, he was a machinist at Eaton, retiring in March 1999.
He belonged to Moose Lodge No. 982 and the Eaton Employees Club, both at Hutchinson.
On April 24, 1993, he married
Betty J. Wolfe at Hutchinson. She died Sept. 13, 1998.
Survivors include: two sons, Larry, Aurora, Colo., and Darvin, Burlington, Colo.; two daughters, Marcia Kruse, Selden, and Leslie Gardea, Kinsley; two sisters, Rose Anna Elam, Washington, Kan., and Donice Edgerton, Brookville; his fiancee, Carol J. Miller, Hutchinson; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson & Sons Memorial Chapel, Hutchinson. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral-home chapel, with Father Ned Blick presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and the family will receive friends from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Calvary cemetery, Brookville.

Donald L. Graham
Donald L. Graham, 73, of Hutchinson, died June 17, 2000, at Golden Plains Health Care Center, Hutchinson.
He was born Dec. 6, 1926, at Carter, Okla., the son of Hardy K. and Zona Hyder Graham. He was a graduate of Retrop, Okla., High School. A longtime Hutchinson resident, moving from Carter, he was employed as a lead man at Cargill Salt Co., Hutchinson, retiring in 1992.
He belonged to First Baptist Church and Union Chemical Workers Local No. 188, both at Hutchinson.
On April 14, 1949, he married
Dorothy Bell at Wheeler, Texas. She survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, Larry, Hutchinson, Danny and Scott, both of Sand Springs, Okla., and Jerry, Ringgold, Va.; a daughter, Deanna Graham Harbold, Mesa, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren, Kristen Harbold, Graham Raymond Harbold, Lee Graham, Mari Graham, Michael Graham, Tonya Graham, Angela Graham, Tamara Graham, Christina Graham, Matthew Graham, Dane Graham, Luke Graham, Jennifer Graham, Jeremy Graham and Dustin Graham; two great-grandchildren, Garrett Harbold and Destanie Garrett; and a foster son, Jesse Reed, Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Elmo Graham, Gerald Graham and H.K. Jr. Graham.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Chris Boaz presiding. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, both at the mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery, Hutchinson.

Dorothy E. Johnson Kuehl
Dorothy E. Johnson Kuehl, 91, of Hutchinson, died April 25, 2000, at Hester Care Center, Wesley Towers, Hutchinson.
She was born April 22, 1909, in rural Clay County, Mo., the daughter of Harden Boone and Opal Johnson Elliott. She was a 1927 graduate of Paseo High School, Kansas City, Mo. A lifetime Clay County, Mo., resident, moving to Hutchinson in 1992, she was a homemaker
She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Kansas City, Mo., and attended Holy Cross Catholic Church, Hutchinson
In 1934, she married
John Raymond Johnson at Clay County, Mo. He died in 1969. She then married
Harold Kuehl in 1973. He died Nov. 10, 1987.
Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane Johnson Boyd and L. Robert Boyd of Hutchinson; a brother, R. Kenneth Elliott of Liberty, Mo.; and a grandson, Richard R. Boyd of Eagan, Minn.
She was preceded in death by a son, Johnnie Raymond Johnson; two brothers, Hiram Elliott and Harden Elliott; and three sisters, Frances Williams, Lillie Mae Hensley, and Margaret Morsman.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Mount Calvary cemetery, Kansas City, Kan., with Father James N. Hoagland presiding. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at McGilley Memorial Chapel, 3325 N.E. Vivion Rd., Kansas City, Mo.

Donald Yingling
Donald Yingling, 57, of Hutchinson, died April 26, 2000, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Sept. 29, 1942, at Norton, the son of Melvin D. and Thelma B. Yingling. A Hutchinson resident since 1972, formerly of McPherson, he was a welder with Central Welding Machine.
He was a member of Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church, Hutchinson
On June 4, 1960, he married
Florence Linda Becker at McPherson. She survives.
Other survivors include: his mother, Colby; three sons, Randy Lee, Steven Ray and Robert Bruce, all of Hutchinson; a daughter, Debra Dawn Yingling, Hutchinson; four brothers, Ronald, Richard and Victor, all of Hutchinson, and Chancey, Colby; three sisters, Barbara Carlson and Connie Harvey, both of Salina, and Wanda Hicks, Colby; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.

Edith I. Beale
Edith I. Beale, 92, of Hutchinson, died June 22, 2000, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Sept. 14, 1907, at Riverside, the daughter of Arthur H. and Emma Ida Roth Cowles. A Hutchinson resident since 1917, she was a former Avon representative and worked for the Hutchinson Election Board.
She belonged to First United Methodist Church, the PTA and Jefferson Janes Family Community Education Unit. She taught Sunday school at the former Irwin Memorial Presbyterian Church, was a Pink Lady at the former Grace Hospital and served as a Cub Scout den mother for Pack 304.
On June 24, 1924, she married
George O. Beale at Hutchinson. He died March 20, 1978.
Survivors include: two sons, Richard, Hutchinson, and Larry, Winfield; two daughters, Velma Geist, Hutchinson, and Helen Gregg, Wichita; two half sisters, Violet McClintock, Orleans, Ind., and Alberta Lampkins, Seattle; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest; and a half brother, Andrew.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Dr. D. Allen Polen Jr. presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery, Hutchinson.

Elizabeth Ainsworth Ontjes
Elizabeth Ainsworth Ontjes, 88, of Hutchinson, died June 21, 2000, at the Ralph Thorne Care Center at Wesley Towers.
She was born April 27, 1912, at Lyons, the daughter of Sam and Bertha Kilworth Ainsworth. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she was a 1929 graduate of Lyons High School and a 1933 graduate of the University of Kansas. She was a homemaker and had been a high school teacher.
She belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a Phi Beta Kappa National Honors Scholar, belonged to Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, the Mortar Board honorary women's society, and was a former member and past president of Chapter BY of PEO.
On Oct. 19, 1934, she married
Max S. Ontjes at Lyons. He survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, David, of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Sam, of Hutchinson; a daughter, Carolyn Falletta, Chapel Hill; two sisters, Kathryn Davis and Dorothy Coldsnow, both Wichita; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Ainsworth.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Nick Warner presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. Inurnment will be in Fairlawn Burial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Wesley Towers Good Samaritan Fund, in care of the mortuary.
Lucille Spence
Lucille Spence, 84, of Hutchinson, died Feb. 21, 2000, at Oakwood Rehabilitation Center, Hutchinson.
She was born May 26, 1915, at Arlington, the daughter of Chester and Bessie Wilson Spence. She graduated from Arlington High School. She was a longtime Hutchinson resident.
Survivors include: a daughter, Michelle Ann Hale, Overland Park; a brother, Bill Spence, Bailey, Colo.; a sister, Betty Goldwater, Carlsbad, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Hutchinson.
