Carl H. Korn
Carl H. Korn, 91, died Nov. 14, 2004, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson.
He was born May 17, 1913, at Abilene, the son of Jacob David and Fannie Olive Baird Korn. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1930 and from Salt City Business College, Hutchinson, in 1933.
A Hutchinson resident, he owned Cove Inn Restaurant in the 1940s and the Silver Dollar for 33 years, retiring in 1990.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Bob Campbell Post No. 1361, and he belonged to American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a 1st Sergeant, with the 219th Artillery Battalion.
On Sept. 27, 1951, he married
Hazel E. Ness at Ashton, S.D. She died Nov. 8, 1970. Then, on July 17, 1973, he married
Delores Jean Vater Wilson at Hutchinson.
Survivors include: his former wife and caretaker, Delores Wilson, Hutchinson; four daughters, Gina D. Wilson, Kathy Wilson, both of Wichita, Sharon Duarte, Hutchinson, and Cheryl Ann Tidwell; a brother, Bill, Abilene; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ronna Lavin; two brothers, Glen and Kenneth; and a sister, Lois Workizer.
There will be a private family service. Friends may sign book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Opal M. Wooden
Opal M. Wooden, 78, died Oct. 9, 2004, at Dillon Living Center, Hutchinson.
She was born May 1, 1926, at Hutchinson, the daughter of Clive "Bud" and Thelma A. Redburn Cunday. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she was a homemaker and she also did childcare.
She belonged to Mitchell United Methodist Chapel, Hutchinson.
In January 1944, she married
Marvin W. Stuart at Oklahoma City. He died in 2003. On July 15, 1960, she married
Bill J. Wooden at Hutchinson. He died in 1983.
Survivors include: two sons, Steven and wife Gail Stuart, Wichita, and Dennis Stuart, Arlington; a daughter, Cathy and husband Ken Green, Maize; a sister, Mildred Benson, Hutchinson; a sister-in-law, Vera Cunday, Hutchinson; six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Willis Dale Cunday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Art Maddock presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, both at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Mitchell Chapel cemetery, Hutchinson. Memorials may be sent to Hospice Care of Kansas, in care of the mortuary.
Keith F. Hobbick
Keith F. Hobbick, 82, died Dec. 10, 2004, at his home, So. Hutchinson.
He was born May 14, 1922, at Hutchinson, the son of Robert H. and Hilda Ilene Donnelly Hobbick. A 58-year Hutchinson area resident, he worked in the oil field.
He belonged to First Southern Baptist Church, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68 and Ark Valley SAMS.
He served in the U.S. Navy from September 1942 to January 1946 in the SW Pacific.
On Nov. 16, 1946, he married
Barbara L. Skellenger at Lyons. She survives.
Survivors include: a son, Mike, Hutchinson; five daughters, Sandy Immesote and companion Dean Wedman, Hutchinson, Ginger Werth and husband Fred, So. Hutchinson, Janet Hobbick, Drexel, Mo., Lynn Montgomery and husband Chuck, Hutchinson, Kim Trent and husband Marc, Hutchinson; nine grandchildren, Jamey Jackson, Chris and John Stutzman, Carrie Mercer, Amy Miller, Tina Evans, Chad Hobbick, Mike Werth and Kathy Wilbourn; 19 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lucas, Zack, Ashley, Kimmy, Emily, Krinn, Zane, Kenzi, Katlyn, Jordan, Shawn, Freddie, Thomas, Tiffani, Kayla, Jessica, Megan and Jordan; a nephew and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas K.; two grandsons, Matthew and Ryan Hobbick; a brother, Lewis; and a sister, Geri Vault.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Southern Baptist Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Ray E. Kempel presiding. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, all at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with military graveside rites conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard, Fort Riley, and Naval Honor Guard, Wichita.

Lucinda R. Withrow
Lucinda R. Withrow, 89, died Dec. 9, 2004, at Hester Care Center, Wesley Towers, Hutchinson.
She was born June 2, 1915, at McPherson, the daughter of Morgan Daniel and Nora Foley Waldo. A Hutchinson resident since 1924, moving from McPherson, she was a homemaker and retired employee of the Reno County Courthouse.
She belonged to Mitchell United Methodist Church.
On March 28, 1937, she married
Roy M. Withrow at Hutchinson. He died Aug. 16, 1970.
Other survivors include: three sons, Gary and Stan, Hutchinson, and Bryce, Bangkok, Thailand; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Warren; a brother, Ray Waldo; and a sister, Edith Spradin.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Pastor Tim Carey presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Wilma L.C. Smyres
Wilma Lillian Caroline Smyres, 93, died Dec. 14, 2004, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born June 6, 1911, in McPherson County, the daughter of John and Alma Rump Bornholdt. A graduate of Inman High School, she was a Hutchinson resident since 1981, moving from rural Inman. She was a homemaker.
She belonged to St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Inman, and Community Home Extension Unit and volunteered at Hutchinson Hospital as a Pink Lady and in the gift shop.
On Jan. 9, 1935, she married
Lewis Allen Smyres at Little River. He died June 20, 1981.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Lois M. Rush and Doris F. Bruce, both of Hutchinson; a sister, Opal Bornholdt, McPherson; five grandchildren, Jeff Rush, Howard Rush, Ross Bruce, Ronda Moore and Royce Bruce; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Willis; two brothers, Harry and Carl; and two sisters, Eva Bleisch and Lida Borders.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at North Inman cemetery, Inman, with Pastor Jim Autrey presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliot Mortuary Chapel.
Memorials may be sent to a charitable organization of the donor's choice, in care of the mortuary.
Kenneth O. Wright
GOODWELL, Okla. - Kenneth O. Wright, 83, died Dec. 14, 2004, at Memorial Hospital, Texas County, Okla.
He was born April 23, 1921, at Fowler, the son of John and Carrie Van Norman Wright. He graduated from Fowler High School in 1939. A Goodwell, Okla., resident, moving to Ashland in 1976, previously a 32-year resident of Fowler, he was a farmer and rancher.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the following citations: Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Service Ribbon with Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and Purple Heart.
On April 17, 1944, he married
Anna Mary Schott at Hutchinson. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include: a son, Jack, Broken Arrow, Okla.; four daughters, June Kramer, Longton, Rita Lyons, Enid, Okla., Carla Blain, Douglas, Wyo., and Cindy Conaway, Ringwood, Okla.; two brothers, Robert, Tahlequah, Okla., and Ivan, Kokomo, Ind.; two sisters, Lillian Smith, Fowler, and Phyllis Giersch, Dodge City; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Roberts.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Terry Armstrong presiding. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Fowler cemetery.
